sometimes i just listen to this stuff and get really sad about what the sugdens became with jack as the family leader. and also how it did end up being 4 generations of emmerdale farm! and it could be five! but because the family didnt have any stability, now rob and vic basically have to start from scratch to rebuild what the sugdens had until ~1994, instead of living in the fully grown oak tree of a family sam envisioned

Do you have any headcanons for Jacob Sugden (Jack, Peggy and Joe's dad)?
ehhh not really? The canon is that he was a shitty dad that overworked his kids as farm labourers and he a drinking problem and probably wasnt a great husband. i imagine at some point before then, he was probably nice/sweet/charasmatic enough, only because i believe in the Sugden Cycles (robert is jack is jacob etc.)
