World building Idea: Berlon’s Heat houses

The Heat houses in Berlon have a long history ever since the first American settlers arrived at Berlon Bay, located at the North-West coast, in 1834. The first establishment, Grafton House, was meant to be a safe haven for Omegas without a mate to help them through their most vulnerable time with trustworthy Madames watching over the heat stricken girls and women for a little fee.

First the Heat house was only open to single (too young) or widowed Omegas, but after almost a century of this strict policy the Madames also allowed mates to spend this intimate time in one of the small, cozy rooms that provided them with the privacy and comfort they needed.

The rooms, similar to very small hotel rooms, offer a nesting base, an array of different nesting materials for the Omega to pick from, and, for a higher price, also an offer of food and drinks if the Omega or the couple wouldn’t want to bring it themselves.

Since the sexual revolution in the late 1960’s, Heat houses are also welcoming unmarried couples. Nowadays the rooms vary in size and features. Bathrooms were added as soon as home water supply was made available to the public. The cheapest Heat house rooms still offer a nesting base, nesting material, a small bathroom with a shower, while the more expensive ones also incorporate a TV, small kitchenette, and a bathtub big enough for two.

Popular extra services include for example professional massages to help with the sore muscles after the heat is over, or an extended cool-down period during which the used nesting material will be replaced with fresh one while the Omega can pamper herself of enjoy the aftercare provided by her partner.

Today there are three Heat houses in Berlon, the only ones in the world. The Morgan House in Morgan Ave. 4048, Potosia; Grafton House 1843 in Tillman Square/Frost Street, Grafton; and Fern HH in Clayton Street 5466, Truine.

Author’s note: Berlon is a new city I’m working on. This is part of the world building for new projects that have nothing to do with Flint or the “Living and Breathing in Flint series”. In fact, it is a whole different universe in the A/B/O genre.

Potosia, Grafton and Truine are three of the 14 boroughs in Berlon. I even drew a map the other day…
