Marcel is such an ignored character in general because he has such a minor role and only one major scene, yet I keep including him in my Warriorposting, headcanons and AUs. At first I didn't know why.

Maybe it's because in theory he's kind of interesting to me, or rather, he gives me enough to work with. He cares about his brother enough to send another kid to his death (but then regrets it because he's probably a good person). He didn't seem to buy into Marleyan propaganda, since he saw becoming a Warrior as something dangerous that he wouldn't wish on Porco, while his brother seemed eager to become a Titan.

He's described as reliable, quick- witted and strong, and the story outright says that he's what Soldier Reiner was trying to be like, although I have my reasons to believe that the image that Reiner and Porco had of Marcel was sort of idealized. He seemed to be more regardful of keeping the group in order than the actual older person in the Warrior Unit, Zeke.

In short, he's always present whenever I think about the Warriors because I see all of this as a goldmine of potential interactions with other characters and I'm also interested in exploring a more distateful side of him beyond his image. We know so little, but just enough for me.

🌟While he hasn't directly sponsored him, Pristine's commercials and products have been advertised on the AWE channel that Bear performs for, his fellow wrestlers have likely repped the PRISTINE LOGO BEOFRE

💫Bear's whole wrestler-sona is an exaggeration of what he used to do for fun [WRESTLING AND FIGHTING WILD LUSII, HE GOT HIS EYE TAKEN OUT AND STOPPED DOING THAT], so he acts kinda dumb and super brutish during his matches, and roars to get the crowd hype, hes got the dumbest bone head banter imaginable but its got UNFF

💫 Pristine hates the sound of gum chewing and popping, MOSTLY when hes talking, he'll be like, trying to talk and u can see his eyes and fins reacting to it until hes like "WH .. [CHUCKLE] WHAT IS THAT. WHATRE YOY DOING RIGHT NOW. YOU..FUCKING [GRUMBLEGRUMBLE]" and he simply cone hands into their mouth and throws the gum at the wall

Personally, I’ve always seen Marcel/Berick as either a Third Musketeer or a big brother figure to Reiner and Bertholdt. I saw a headcanon a while ago that Marcel might have been Bertholdt’s brother, and I think I subconsciously latched onto it, whether they’re actually related or Marcel just filled the position that an older brother would. I imagine him as the one that always had a word of reassurance for his friends while they were training before leaving for their mission, always ready with a joke and a smile to take away from the darkness of what they were about to do. 

That being said though, I personally feel like Marcel was devoted to the mission 100%. He believed that what they were doing was right, that they were going to help people. I see him as an idealist, a dreamer who wanted to help create a better world. He was a product of their upbringing, a model, golden Marley warrior child. And Bertholdt and Reiner missed him dearly when he was taken from them.
