Tbh what I really love about Kingdom is how much the perspectives matter. Yes, there's this underlying (or sometimes almost literal when you look at the nature of the disease) kill/eat the rich theme but that's not to say that the rich and noble do not have their own roles in this class war entwined with an external crisis. Those who abandoned the marginalized were immediately devoured, however those that put their resources on an accessible platform, found themselves better equipped. This is not to put a "don't care about others but care about yourself" lens to it, but to say that the power also lies in the people - much more than is realised. And when it comes to perspectives of the privileged like Chang, Beom Pal or even the Queen, there's acknowledgement that yes, their situations are shitty/frustrating too, however nowhere nearly are they as robbed of choice and life as are the commoners. Thus, they put themselves in the shoes of the commoners which is what is meant by bridging class divide - to be disillusioned from the vacuum separating you and the people on the street. Wear your silks and your jewelry, but putting the mere lives of the rich over those of the poor is where the line stands.
