write a drabble or one shot of your two favs after they've accidentally drank a truth telling brew
thank you very much! I couldn't resist a bit of McBeck for this one, and I'm incapable of writing anything under 100 words, so have a little one shot!
"You're enjoying this!" Rodney folded his arms across his chest, glaring across the table at Carson. "I promise you, lad, I'm not." Rodney huffed, his finger tapping against his sleeve. They'd been left alone until whatever it was they'd drunk wore off - it was some sort of truth serum, and apparently Elizabeth didn't think it a good idea for him to be loose on Atlantis without a filter. Sheppard had made some comments at that, but the less said the better. "Why did Lorne's team even bring that stuff back?! What possible use can it have?" Rodney waved a hand as Carson opened his mouth, "Yes, yes, okay, fine, it's useful for other people. For enemies. But last time I checked I wasn't enemy number one. Unless you ask the Botanists - but seriously that's not even a science. There's no reason for them to be here. We could just send samples back through the 'Gate for them to get giddy over. 'Oh look, here's some new soil from which a strangely-shaped leaf has emerged, that'll change the world, that will.' I mean, come on." "And now we know where Elizabeth's concerns came from…" Carson sighed. When Rodney turned to glare at him he could see the soft smile lifting the corners of Carson's mouth. Another huff. "Well, what else do you want to do? Hmm?!" "You." Rodney blinked. Carson's cheeks turned crimson and he slapped a hand over his mouth. They stared at each other, at a loss. Slowly Rodney glanced up at the camera set up in the ceiling, then turned back to Carson. "Maybe when there's not a live video feed." He shot Carson a small smile and watched as Carson's eyes went wide. Tremulously Carson lowered his hand from his mouth, his eyebrows shooting for his hairline. "You're right, probably best not to get a reputation." Rodney nodded, shooting another covert glance at the camera. "Let's just hope they didn't set the microphones up…"
