Teen Overboard

Being a teenager is complicated. But then adults say, “Wait ‘til you’re older, it’s even worse.” Maybe they’re right. Even though it feels like nothing could possibly be more difficult than Heartbreaks, homework, exams and the pressure to get good grades. But when you stop and think about it for a little while, You realise that someday, It won’t just be your life you’ll be responsible for. I guess they are right. But when does it get better?

It’s scary to think that the answer lies within us. But we have to seek then dig for it like treasure. We just need a map, a ship or a bridge to get us through these rough waters. And a captain, even as great as Jack Sparrow, needs his shipmates. We might discover through the journey that some of them are only interest in Invading our ship and taking our gold,  but in the end, it’s our ship. No matter how many times they try and steal it from us, It’s ours to run.

In Pirates of the Caribbean, when their ship capsized, They ended up in the place they had been longing for. And maybe that’s life. Maybe we’re purposely turned upside down For the greater good.

It sucks that we have to go through riptides and get washed over By strong and powerful waves But then how would we feel how good it is To surface back and realise How far we’d come If we never experience the bad?

How would we know what our limits are If we wave our white flags Without even going to our battles?
