How I feel about this character

tbh! i have much less thoughts on him than katerina. i honestly never ever cared about him until clara route, where my interest and care for him just fucking skyrocketed, oh my god. 

truly, i love him for the same reasons as kat: hes trying to desperately fill his role and he seems to know the basics of it, but when shit goes to hell, he just is unable to do anything correctly. i cant remember if they ever talk about how he was pre-patho, but it must have been... slightly better.  though hes still dumb. but we know this. anyways.

speaking of him being dumb, i love how much he seems to care? like about katerina, of course. hes SO dumb hes so fucking dumb like my example is him trying to outlaw tourniquets to help kat with her addiction. like he obviously cares about her so much but god. this is so fucking dumb. sir PLEASE just talk to her or get her something this isnt good enough. oh my god. also, him calling clara his daughter almost immediately in her route makes me so happy. and then day 11 with him in her route.... auuhghh oh my god,

oh, him and kat! ofc this also is linked to my katerina answer, where i think they could be good together, and they obviously love and care for each other very very much, but... perhaps theyd be better as friends. i still care a lot about them as a ship, though, and enjoy content of them. though saburov stop being a fucking idiot. talk to your wife!!!!!!

also, i love him with viktor! i dont quite like the. idea of him cheating on kat tbh so i usually really like it in a different time where theyre Not together, but! i think it could be really really nice, and its very interesting... two rulers in love is a little 😳also i just looked at your own response and it is, indeed, about the secret gay yearning.

also im slightly interested in the ship with him and grief but more of because i think its silly gdhsjkgkds i havent really gotten into your guys’ thoughts on this  though ive just been seeing from afar, 

My non-romantic OTP for this character (im just interpreting this as other relationships i find interesting)

once again, him and kat! i feel like they could be much better off as just friends, and i feel like if they actually Talked to each other they could be such strong best friends! they obviously really care and respect one another so i feel like it would be very, very good!

and also once again, him and clara! he definitely has Some care in his heart for her behind all of the needing to use her powers for his own gain, so yeah! i just seem to look at the saburovs and go “it Could be good if literally anyone talked to each other and they werent in a fucking plague.” 

i think his relationship with the other humbles is just Funny. like it wouldnt be a friendship its more of just them bullying him. its so funny to think about aspity or grief interacting with him like he gets No respect. funny man. 

My unpopular opinion about this character

oh, hm! i think my unpopular opinion would be that i actually like him and find him interesting gdhsjkg no really, i think that people hammer home his sort of... bad ruling way too much. i feel like he could be more competent, but hes in a Plague. like i think that behind all of his dumb ideas he has a lot of care in his heart for his family, and for the town... though i do agree with dahlia who said how a leader who isnt good at their job is a harm to the entire community, so i also do agree with the other side of that because while saburov could definitely do an Okay job. he might not be the best. actually wait lets just put notkin in power at age 13, 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

oh, like i said: i want hugs in clara route! ipl, you BETTER!! really though, im just excited for clara’s route, and im excited to see the differences and expansions on his own character. since we dont have the letters, saburov, you have to say with your own words that claras your daughter all the time ok! really, i just. have  no other thoughts than im so excited for clara route.

Favorite character is always hard to say for me u should know this by now smh

In a c! Aspect I love Tommy and Fundy but I think Tommy is too immature to actually handle drama and his character having ptsd so it doesn’t hit as hard, c!Fundy has a great concept with Ghostbur and c!Philza but I dont think Fundy hits the mark(I have reasons im too tired to put them together)

Otherwise Wilbur was always easy to love, he wasn’t the best leader but he was charming as all hell and I always enjoyed him. I’ve enjoyed Karl’s time traveling shenanigans and im starting to simp for Sapnap (love their polycule).

Fav nation

Easily L’Manberg. Though the L’Manberg we knew when it was just named, before presidency came in and before anyone had time to breath during and after the war. When it was fresh and small and the feeling that it was going to start something.

I also love the vibes of New L’Manberg, not a fan of the poltics that happened during it but there’s something so beautiful about it being blown up and how they built over it,,, the aesthetic is very nice.
