@agentscully514 Japanese beetles are in the scarab family (also known as chafers)
their elytra are brown, and they have little fuzzy edges. The thoracic carapace is the same iridescent green as the Ram beetles, but their antennae are the wrong shape, and as well as being the wrong colour, the elytra are not smooth. Also, the whole beetle is more almond shaped.
mint leaf beetle, dock beetle, dogbane flea beatle
there are many leaf beetles that look a lot like the Ram beetle (three examples above). Same antennae shape, similar body shape, correct colouration and shape of elytra.
It would help to narrow it down if we knew where the photo was taken but I haven't been able to figure that out yet.
Finally trying to expand my knowledge into the beetle realm!
I believe this is a female White-spotted Sawyer Beetle, but would welcome any corrections :)
Anyone good with insects want to give me a hint as to what this fucker is? Roommate found him while cleaning and is concerned.
Does anybody know what species it is? It was incredibly beautiful
