What made you ship it? The enemies to lovers aspect - as actual, real, fighting and killing each other enemies - was a big draw for me, because I love angst and I love happy endings. They killed each other many times and eventually they figured it out. :) Growth.
What are your favorite things about the ship? The sense of deep, intimate, enduring love between them. And from an interactive standpoint, by dint of their age & immortality there's so much opportunity to play with different events, locations, and eras.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? From what we see in canon & what the fandom built out as popular fanon, it's easy to put certain labels on each of them: Joe's the artist; Nicky's the cook; relationship roles etc. The way I see it, when someone's lived a thousand years, they've changed so much over their lifetime and worn so many titles and behaved in such different ways that it's practically offensive to label them as anything at all. The possibilities are endless. I think the people Joe and Nicky have been (and therefore also how their relationship has worked) have seen an incredible amount of change over a millennium. The fact that they're still together at the end of it speaks to their love and their ability to stay in love throughout change.
In the bookstore listening to two strangers talk about Discworld while perusing the Pratchett section and shifting the books in my arms around in the hopes they'll see I'm buying several and we'll all become best friends about it
