at first, the grinch pretends he hates every bit of it. there's

lots of dramatic sighing

loud declarations like "i do not do cuddles"

he still ends up wrapping a blanket around you like a burrito and bringing you hot coco anyways

the performance is half the fun,

he adapts surprisingly fast. the grinch has been alone for so long that caring for someone so little taps into his hidden, mushy heart.

he'd:

make sure you're fed. ("no i did not make you a snack. the leftover roast beast simply leapt onto a plate.")

build absurdly cozy pillow forts with you.

he'd become protective in a feral raccoon way where it adopts a human and hisses at alleycats over dry food.

the grinch would also:

read storybooks in dramatic, over the top voices that makes you giggle nonstop.

crafts that are... interesting in a weird way. Definitely non traditional but fun nonetheless because you made it with your dad

outdoor snowplay with max. the grinch usually gets cold first and drags you two back inside.

movie nights where he pretends not to cry at the emotional parts

he lets you 'decorate him' with stickers, tinsel, ornaments, while claiming it's torture

he's grumpy, but he never tells you no.

he's not openly mushy, but he does show it:

tucks blankets all around you that way a trajillion pounds because he doesn't want you getting cold

carries you if you're feeling too tired while claiming "you're slow. this is effciency."

sits near you and slowly inches closer until he can surprise-hug you into cuddles.

there's lots of gentle forehead taps, pats, and finger waggles involved.
