So I originally wanted to do a time lapse of cities, that had words fade on and off the screen saying something along the lines of, everyone is so busy, never stopping to just think, to just look around, to just admire... and then the time lapse of cities would fade out and then video of me in some nature environment would fade on, and try portray me just listening, and enjoying the quiet, the natural world.

I wanted this because that is a big part of me, I’ve lived out West for 6+ years since moving from England, and being so close to the bush and the beaches have become who I am. It’s so different to England, and I think that’s why I love it.

I always go on walks by myself through the bush, whether its for 20 minutes, or a whole day, as long as I am away from the noise, the technology, the big grey buildings, then I’m happy. Listening to the birds and other animals, listening to waterfalls, streams, ocean, seeing all the greenery around me and what Earth had to offer, it relaxes me and lets me think clearly.

So I wanted to have that as me being a Creative Technologist, I think because its a big part of who I am, it reflects in my work, it makes me different.

BUT!! Then I heard that a lot of people made videos that had them talking, answering some of the questions we got given as a guideline. So i deterred from my original idea. Do I like my final outcome? Nope, been saying that a lot lately, and i’m slowly realising that something has to change, because i’m not producing the work that I want to and think I can.

After having finished the sound performance and being able to reflect on how our performance went I believe what we did and our the performance went far exceeded the expectations i had! It was by far our best performance that we had done as the group and it was just really fun! Everyone in the group got a long and were able to enjoy the creative process that went into the making of the piece. I certainly enjoyed the task and will always remember the good memories that went into making the track!
