Smoke a joint, draw, and chill

If you're at all interested in pre-med, you should know what BCMP is and why you should be thinking about this early. When applying to medical schools, they are actually looking at three calculated GPA's, your BCMP (which I will talk about in a second), your non-science GPA, and your cumulative overall GPA. BCMP stands for biology, chemistry, math, and physics. Any courses you take in these departments will count toward that BCMP GPA. This is something you want to be thinking about as you pick your courses throughout your college careers. BCMP is highly important when applying to medical schools because obviously medical school is very much about science. More recently, there has a been a movement to require some social and behavioral sciences such as psychology or cultural studies to apply to medical school. Speak to the pre-med advisor early and plan out your courses you should be taking!
