Once upon a dream...John and I loved to spend evenings after work, in our hot tub dreaming about our future, and what it would look like! For the better part of 4 years, the future looked the same to each of us. We agreed we were tired of the rat race. Work, come home tired and sore, eat dinner, go to bed and repeat. Even weekends couldnt be looked forward to, because while John was off weekends, I worked every weekend. The bills were getting higher and higher. Mortgage and bills ate the bulk of our paychecks. There was little left for us. Is this what our life was going to be forever? Working until we were so tired and sore and making just enough to get by? We were house poor. We had a lovely home, but we were slaves to that house. This is what we decided to do to give us a quality life we could enjoy without limiting our needs! We wanted to buy an RV and live in it full time and travel to different destinations and enjoy culture and experiences in each place! Each time we discussed it we got more excited! Yes-this was the dream for us! How do we make it happen?

First and foremost, we had an understanding that the kids would all be finished high school. So that gave us 3ish years to pull it off. With neither of us sitting on a pile of money, we decided to use what we had, to make us the money we needed to start our dream life. We had investments we could use and built upon them when we could. We upgraded and renovated areas of our home bit by bit, knowing it was going to add value to our home. We replaced windows, flooring, installed solar panels, finished the basement, added a deck in the back yard, freshly painted the house to a neutral color, removed our tree ( that broke my heart ) to make room for a 3 car cement driveway and sidewalk down the side of the house. It looked amazing!! We were right! It increased the value so much that when we sold the house, we got 65k over our asking price! With the sale of the house, we purchased our new home on wheels! I affectionately call it our "condo on wheels". We bought a Class A motorhome- a 2016 Coachmen Mirada. It's a beauty! But now we had to downsize BIG TIME. We either sold or gave away our furniture and household items. I had to have many conversations with my pack rat self and let go of things I've held onto for too many years. I still had things from my childhood long forgotten! We did put some stuff in a storage unit that I simply couldnt part with.

We were blessed to have a team of people help us move out...and move in to our new home. We can never thank them enough! Starting with our real estate team from Van Leeuwen Real Estate Advisors! Jerry Van Leeuwen and his team member Jody made the sale of our so smooth and effortless! I enjoyed their good natured humor and their knowledge and hunger to sell our home. We highly recommend them if you are ever selling your home! We also could never have pulled this off without my kids Sydney, her boyfriend, Brandan , Devon and Jordan. They worked tirelessly to help us move and transition into our new lives and as as transitioning into their own. Our friends, Michelle Bradley, Blair Fitzpatrick, Lisa Devison, John's brother Joe, his cousin Justin, friends Matthew and Joanne all worked hard at getting stuff out of the house a full day sooner than we thought. It was a lot of work and they all really stepped up. We thank you, love you, owe you!

Goodbye 20 Flockhart road! Thank you for all the memories! For keeping our family safe year after year! For all the holidays we enjoyed in this house! Those memories are in my heart and mind! May the new family living in this great home enjoy the love, warmth and memories that we did!
