“I knew he wouldn’t do it. Don’t know why you wanted to invite him,” Sally Donovan commented acerbically with arms crossed standing behind Greg Lestrade.
“I don’t see why I should subject myself to your team’s idiocy any longer than I have to, Lestrade,” Sherlock replied, ignoring Sally.
“Oh come on, Sherlock!” Lestrade grinned. “Think of it as a way to get back at them for all they’ve said.”
“He won’t do it! I’ll bet he’s not even that good!” Sally snorted turning away from the group and towards the counter where the coffee pot was.
“We could do four on four,” Greg continued.
“Four? Does the freak even know that many people?” Sally asked incredulously, her hands now cupping a mug of black coffee.
“Sure,” Greg shrugged. “You, Clarke, Hopkins, and Gregson will be one team. Me, John, Sherlock, and one of John’s army buddies will be the other.”
“John doesn’t want to participate in some pseudo game of war,” Sherlock grumbled.
“Actually,” John stepped into the conversation for the first time. “It might be fun.”
Sherlock gave a are-you-serious look before throwing up his hands and rolling his eyes. “Fine! But you owe me a box of cold cases afterwards, Lestrade.”
“Deal!” Greg grinned. And that was how John and Sherlock were signed up to play a game of paintball with the Yarders.
there are so many good ideas on bbcsherlockheadcanon's page ^_^
There really are. It’s a great place to go if anyone ever needs ideas. I know it’s given me some in the past, and definitely will in the future. :3
I am very disappointed that bbcsherlockheadcanon hasn't figured out by now what is an appropriate submission to post. The latest one in the #sally donovan tag is really, really offensive. Anonymous basically paints a younger Donovan who bullies Molly to a point where she becomes anorexic. The way it's written is so spiteful because the name is used like a hammer, punctuating the very last sentence with Sally's identity and condemning her completely.
I understand that blog admins make mistakes, but as a fandom blog of this nature (where objectivity is really important) they need to be aware of what's going on re wank, so that they can avoid feeding this negative beast. It doesn't matter saying that the opinions of your submissions don't reflect personal ones of the admins; it's your responsibility to weed out the wank-feeders from those who are really confessing things they care about, things that reflect what they're personally going through, etc. The content doesn't have to be fluffy, but common sense in this manner shouldn't be that difficult. It's about exercising due diligence.
This is a time when we need to come together as a fandom. Series 3 is almost upon us. Who knows how each character will be treated and/or redeemed. We need to stop hating on each other's favorites so viciously. And if the fringe part of fandom laughs at my earnest plea and wants to continue the anonymous wank, those who have the big follower count, the ones who have the most influence (and have the best intentions) need to wield their power more wisely and show us that these kind of things aren't acceptable anymore.
Right now, the one blog I can rely on of this nature is sherlockiansbepositive. They seem to have the right idea, they take great care in what they do and they foster positive connections between bloggers throughout fandom. There should be more of that. I think it's fine not to like a character, but do we have to do it in this fashion? Can't we do better?

Why are people hating on bbcsherlockheadcanon? I've never known them to be anything but extremely fair and hard working, and now suddenly I see all these posts about how terrible they are. Did they post something ultra offensive, or...? I've always been under the impression that the content they post is from other users and not from themselves. If a couple of odd or offensive head canons get through, is that really a reason to jump down their throats? I would think you'd just request for them to take it down and state why it was offensive, but then I'm really not sure precisely what happened.
This is why I hope none of my blogs ever become really popular, tbh. It seems like once you hit a certain point, everyone just turns on you.
Well, if you guys at bbcsherlockhc see this, just know that I personally think your blog is great and can see how much effort you put into it.
:edit: Okay, so apparently it's to do with their Sally Donovan posts. I get what the OP was complaining about, but I'm not inclined to blame bbcshhc for other people's head canons. They can start policing them more if they like, I suppose.
According to their faq, bbcsherlockheadcanon supposedly doesn't post every single thing that is submitted, so would it just be too much to ask for them to take a little bit of consideration and responsibility and NOT regurgitate the vile misogynistic bullshit that is the worst part of this fandom?
Not a headcanon: about #2006. The only time Sherlock said "John and I" in "A Scandal in Belgravia" was in the phrase, "Did you know that before you sent John and I in there?" In that context, ONLY "John and me" could have been correct.
