SO this started as a little sketch based off a league of legends splash art (shoutout to traditional trundle) because i thought bb1 would fit the pose and also thought it'd be good practice

i think bb unlocked could use a psychologist, it’s so fun

eddie’s social game is so great, he finds someone who is feeling weird about him and he makes it a point to bond with them and i love that. put him on a more strategic minded season!!!!

i think it’s more interesting for us and them that they are given a budget to buy food & tasks to earn more food and money, vs the have/have not thing which imo has LONG since run its course

these people are desperate for a game to play, the way chicken george was trying to strategize his phone call, cassandra & jamie are clocking the voting blocks, even will mega the first two weeks trying to plan a riddle, they want something to DO 😭 they can only talk about brittany being a virgin and jordan being a stripper so many times!!!!

i wound up thinking about cassandra on a modern cast bc she specifically talks about not having her own niche bc of both her age & her race singling her out, and i thought that conversation between her and curtis (who is the only other poc left in the house now!), and it’s also like idk HAVE we fixed this issue? i think they still really love to cast people who are like, racially anxious (i am thinking about the line between karen to angela & it’s not to say you can inherently control for implicit bias, it’s implicit for a reason but we KNOW they love to do this “cast a bleeding heart lib & a conservative” and the lib is often just like, a black woman existing). i guess you can say cassandra probably wouldn’t be alone - fe had meme (& cirie but lol), terrance & will integrated within the house fairly well (im sure there’s some gender stuff happening there too) and will was definitely close to mickey & ashley AND rachel as another older person, tiff & chaddha and azah & big d definitely hung onto each other, i guess i still feel like there’s not a real effort into casting older which imo is such a shame because when you look at the modern era, a lot of the more notable players were OVER 25 & in fact the people 20-25 tend to have a harder time getting comfortable. and i look at cassandra who was 37 at the time, and the ONLY 30 year old there on top of being the only black woman & it’s like. idk. i think we could do better for people like cassandra!

that said, pour one out for og cracked old lady, karen being third out is expected but she really walked so renny could run and angela could soar huh

- jamie all but says exactly that phrase in her introduction and everyone loves her, i do like the way she’s been very anti josh on a romantic level tho lol

My fiancee in her attempt to understand my BB obsession has decided she needs to watch the old eps (she’s only seen BB23-27 aka the seasons that have aired since we’ve been together). So we’re watching the pilot now.

The opening episode to BB1 is wild, it’s been so long since I’ve seen it:

—The house being janky

—Julie showing the control room

—Two hour allotment of hot water each day (for the whole house)

—The parade of 10 SUVs through LA taking the HGs to the BB house with a whole police motorcade escort

—Chicken George saying he answered an ad in a newspaper to audition for BB

—Julie interviewing the family members at a barricade outside the house

—Only the bedrooms having light switches

—Some random journalist guy Ian giving an in-depth house tour throughout the episode (including the camera corridor behind the two way mirror windows)

—No watches/clocks allowed (and no oven clock)

—these HGs with significant others (Eddie, Jordan) straight up admitting they don’t know if they’ll be faithful

—the DR initially being called the Red Room (bc it was all red)

—the backyard having a whole vegetable garden and a chicken coop!!

—the HGs having a little metal BB briefcase instead of a suitcase

—the move in being treated like a red carpet celebrity event

—only 28 cameras back then

—episodes were 5 nights week but half hour

While most of the house is dancing the afternoon away, Delia and Ethan are taking it easy on the balcony.
