“Wash your hands and wash your feet, walk on water,”
- Revenant, the Warning

Or, Kate Kane recalls miserable birthdays, personal Batfam lore and DC world building, and the special relationship that is cousinhood.
If I was working for DC and doing a "Gotham City gets taken over by a group of supervillains" story, here's something that would happen during it:
after the takeover, Batman leads a literally-underground guerrila resistance against the villains
(possibly he'd also team up with Gorilla Boss just so that we could make the obvious pun)
also, the Batcave would probably have been compromised and/or destroyed as part of the takeover
anyway, Bruce leads the resistance in Gotham itself but he gives Kate an important mission to do elsewhere
we don't initially learn what the mission is, but we do see Kate doing it
she takes a Batboat - the only one the Batfam has at the moment - to a set of co-ordinates in the middle of the ocean. There doesn't seem to be anything there, but she dives into the water and swims down deep, and we see... something. A ship, or a submarine, maybe? Well, whatever it is, it's huge
Kate's narrating the whole time and she also thinks that the whatever-it-is is huge
also, that narration is how we learn that Bruce didn't really tell her the whole mission either, just "go to these co-ordinates, dive to this depth, use this password to get in and this password to activate the computers"
anyway, Kate gets into the big underwater thing. Once she's inside, the lights turn on and we see that the layout is pretty similar to the Batcave. There are no Batmobiles, but there are plenty of Batplanes and Batcopters, as well as some Batdrones, a Bat-Bot (don't worry, this one's off and also Not Evil), and a Bat-Jetpack. And a Bat-Computer of course
Kate enters the password that Bruce gave her into the Bat-Computer and a recording of Bruce starts to play - a younger Bruce, but already Batman - in which he explains that this was a contingency plan he'd come up with, but he decided that he couldn't trust himself with it
he can, however, trust Kate. And if she's hearing this recording, that means Bruce has finally decided to activate this contingency
it's at this point that we and Kate both learn what this place actually is, as it starts to rise out of the water and into the air
It's a fucking bat-helicarrier
readers behold... The Flying Batcave
an issue later, the rest of the Batfam is pinned down and about to get defeated by the villains when Kate comes in with a Big Damn Heroes moment and saves the day
she tells Bruce she always knew he was batshit crazy
it's a compliment
a couple of notes:
i didn't make The Flying Batcave up. It's from a Silver Age story where a gang of criminals makes the mayor of Gotham ban Batman from setting foot in the city so Bruce decides to BUILD A FUCKING BAT-HELICARRIER. i'm pretty sure it predates SHIELD's one too
after this arc, Kate would get to Just Keep It. it's Hers now
Batcousin bullshit
They all have the same 3 freckles under their left eye
Nobody is straight
Lizzie once kicked Bruce from the stairs when they were kids. No Bruce has not forgiven her.
Bette and Bruce are the youngest
Bruce was often covered in make up because Bette needed a guinnea pig
They have monthly meet ups and talk shit about whatever they want. Often the league
Lizzie tought Bette how to braid hair (when she came back)
When Lizzie "died" Kate didnt leave her room for months, Bruce was the only one allowed in
When Kate joined the army she called Bette and Bruce as much as possible
Bruce's nickname for Bette is MaryBee
Kate calls both Bruce and Bette gremlin
Bette and Bruce are the only ones that got the curly hair, Lizzie is jealous
Bruce and Lizzie only have freckles over their nose and cheeks while Kate and Bette got them everywhere
They have matching birthmarks on their wrists
They have said each others real ID's so many times in the field it isnt even funny anymore
Kate and Lizzie still parent trap people
Bruce's background on his batphone is them as kids, the league thinks it are his kids.
Sometimes Bruce needs people to reinact a crime scene, Lizzie happily volunteers everytime, its starting to concern the others
Bette and Lizzie share hairproducts
Bette was born two (2) years before Lizzie "died"
Kate/Lizzie and Bruce have a 5 year age gap
Kate is going to be the head of the family after her father dies
When Lizzie came back, Bruce may have shed a tear, he will deny it
Kate and Lizzie are 6'0, Bruce is 5'8 and Bette is 5'6
Everybody steals Kate's shirts, she's not happy about it
They are always in Kate's apartment
They are in front row cheering at Bette when she has competitions
Lmao anyway,
I think they should interact more
Pt.1 (?)
Batcousins Headcanons
Bette thinks Bruce is the fun cousin
Beth and Kate were nearly inseparable and Bette followed them around like a duckling
Bruce is the one who suggests the nickname "Bette"
When they were little, Bette was called "Emmy"
They all have baby photos of Bruce they use as blackmail
Kate and Bruce used to be each other's wingperson
Beth's disappearance is what strained Bruce and Kate's relationship
Bette is the baby of the group and Kate and Bruce are fiercely protective of her

How is Bette Kane related to Bruce Wayne? Are they cousins or is Bette just cousins with Kate? I'm very confused.
Bette kane is Bruce waynes maternal first cousin. In the zero year event bette went to philip kanes funeral where Bruce called her "cousin bette" in a endering 'im your older cousin so you gotta listen to me you brat' type of way
Gordon: *looking at Batwoman* Is she with you? Can we talk in front of her?
Batman: Commissioner, this is my emotional support lesbian.
Batwoman: Whassup?
You know, it’s a shame that Martha is an Arkham in The Batman, because imagine if she was a Kane. Imagine the Kanes, and specifically Kate Kane existing in this universe. Imagine Kate and Bruce interacting (listen, I need more BatCousins content in this world)
While I need to read more comics that actually feature Kate, I’ve read about her and from what I gather, even in the comics she’s more extroverted than Bruce. Considering how Bruce is in this movie, there’s even more of a potential contrast there, and the makings of a fun dynamic.
And at the same time, the stuff I have read about Kate gives me the impression that before she became Batwoman she was not in a good place at all, and arguably self-destructive, and, well
*gestures at how Bruce is in this movie*
but they go about that in different ways, and you could potentially do some neat stuff with that
Also, Kate’s just as dramatic as Bruce so people’s reactions to meeting Batwoman would probably be some variation on “oh my god, there’s two of them” ranging from exasperated (Penguin) to ecstatic (Selina)
