The committee approved my #thesisproject. HOWEVER... they want me to expand my view from just West Dennis and The Columns. Since I was focused on the importance of #restoration and #rehabilitation of historically and culturally relevant structures, I am expanding it to look at the different directions the Main Streets of Dennis and Yarmouth have experienced. This will look at Old Main Street in #BassRiver in South Yarmouth and the parallel stretch of Rt. 28. In Dennis, I will work up from Main Street in West Dennis into South Dennis in comparison to Rt 134. Restoration is often a better driver for #aestetic and #qualityoflife reasons. New development creates jobs and revenue that rehabbing old buildings cannot match. So which is more important, jobs or quality of life?
