Number of Nouns
Number of Nouns tells us how many persons, places, animals, or things are being talked about.
There are TWO types of Number in English grammar:
1 Singular Number
A singular noun refers to one person or one thing.
Examples: Boy Girl Book Pen Child
Example sentences: • The boy is playing. • I have a book.
2 Plural Number
A plural noun refers to more than one person or thing.
Examples: Boys Girls Books Pens Children
Example sentences: • The boys are playing. • I have many books.
How singular changes into plural
• Book → Books • Box → Boxes • City → Cities • Man → Men • Child → Children
