i will never understand ppl who demonise or dehumanise robot, they miss out on such a tragic character by pushing him into that position.
they don't understand WHY robot wants to be presented that way and WHY he thinks aggression is the only way to counteract his deep seated fear that what edward did to them had an impact, so he pushes it aside, including pushing aside the importance of his existence and his humanity because of said fear.
by humanising himself robot has to acknowledge the unacknowledgeable, and try to live with the memory, which he can't (until it is literally forced out of him in 407) because all he ever learnt how to do was hide pain.
