Wait so if in the pnf universe they use a base 8 counting system does that mean that 9 and 10 just donât exist??? And if so how would that work??
First, for anyone who's confused about why we've decided they don't count the same in the Dwampyverse, check out this post by @phineasandferbtheories (tagging them in case they have something to add)
Anon, that is so close to what it means! This confused the absolute shit out of me too when I first started learning binary (which is essentially the same concept except base 2 instead) in Java Programming, but Iâd like to think I have a pretty good grasp on how base conversions work even if itâs been a few years since Iâve done them, so hereâs my attempt to explain how base 8 would work!
Two guys in the office are currently arguing over what is a better numbering system. Base 8 or base 10. But they are terrible at explaining it to eachother so the discussion/ debate is going nowhere.
Six is a valid number in two situations. One is in base 6 counting (however base 8 is more valid)
And the other, obviously, is in 5+1 fics

How to change from base 10 to any Base
How to change from base 10 to any Base
How can you change from base 10 to hexadecimal (base 16)? Or how can you convert a number in base 10 to base 2. To change from base 10 to other bases, a method called successive division is used. The given number in base 10 is divided repeatedly by the appropriate base number. The remainders of each division, including zero, are recorded at each stage of the division.
The division stops onlyâŚ

An idea  that has been rattling in my head for the past couple of years
An animated tv show with an art style that gives the characters four fingers on each hand. In this show, the number 9 is non-existant but people talk about these sweet tricks for the 7's times tables; like how the product will have a digital root of 7; people say that they have 10 of something, but to us, there are only 8. 100 is a milestone, but not a rare occurance to see someone live to... It would make sense for them to live in a base 8 world...
