wait your colorblind and you draw good, how do you know what color though.... (Not to be rude or anything, just asking)

I just good ol’ Hex color code or Hexadecimals because they transfer into RGB/HSL values or basically the normal color spectrum when it comes to our vision. The normal color vision i dont have lol
With hex code I can know what color I am using without really knowing what the color fully looks like. i just know where it falls under the spectrum of color and what color it’s supposed to be. (I hope that makes sense)
I have Tritanomaly. Meaning I see some shades of red, but it’s mostly red pink, pinkish orange, light yellow, some green, most of the color spectrum is teal and dark blue, small amount of purple and just pink. That’s what it all looks like to me anyways. It’s probably not SUPER severe but it’s enough for me to get into an argument with siblings about what color something is lol I need physical type in hex codes and I write them down on my more messy ref sheets for ocs that way I don’t always gotta find their colors. I do knew color pallets of my ocs bc I mean it’s on the computers i can check the codes right there. But I write them too to remember.
That and when I draw peoples ocs I usually ask for hex code colors that way I can color as acutely as possible :3
Of course, i do mess up sometimes after all I'm not perfect. But I still try my best, but I’m usually pretty confident when drawing bc ive used hex codes for so long while drawing. Though I can’t remember all of them and still need to look them up ^^;

As for using Hex codes:
Hex codes are written in 6 digits. Each 2 digits representing RGB. RGB is the pixels of color used for electronics. The highest amount of pixels of each color is 256 pieces. 0 is included as a number, so when writing out the pixel scale, it’s 0 to 255. Because 0 is included as a number rendering it 256 pixels.
FF is 255 in RGB. While 00 is well 0 in RGB, no color at all.
#FF0000 - pure Red
#00FF00 - pure Greed
#0000FF - pure Blue

#FFFFFF - pure white (were all color values red, green and blue are at 255 pixels)
#000000 - pure black (were all colors values red, green and blue are at 0 pixels)

Where the letters come in:
As you know, hex code only has 6 digits. Hex numbers use 16 digits to get to any number between 0 and 255. Because 16 x 16 =256 (agains bc 0 counts as a number) But we run into a problem.
#1132151410 - while this is correct, we end up with 3 to 4 numbers in a 2 digit spot. So we start turning larger numbers into letters. Any number past 9, gets turned into a letter from A to F. F being 15.

So instead of your hex code looking like this #1132151410 it will look like this #B32FEA (could also be written as #1D2FEA, but that is a complete different color)

when your looking at the code, The first digit is multiplied by 16 and the second digit is multiplied by 1. Your main focus is the first digit of each 2 bc multiplying any number to 1 gives you the same number.

B11 x 16 =176 and 3 x 1 =3 — add the answers 176 + 3 =179 that how much red is in this color and theres a good amount of red in this color.
2 x 16 =32 and F15 x 1 =15 — add 32 + 15 =47 theres not a lot of green in this color.
E14 x 16 =224 and A10 x 1 =10 — add 224 + 10 =234 theres a lot of blue on this color. So we know there is a lot of blue and red in this color and not a lot of green. Meaning this color is a shade of purple. More specifically, a lighter shade of purple bc of the lack of green. And the hight amounts of red and blue. Meaning it’s probably a neon violet.

trust, it took me a few years to get the hang of using hex codes or RGB for colors. I’m not gonna be able to remember every color code out there. But knowing how the code works helps a lot to get an idea (or at least try to get an idea) of what color I am messing with.
