Speaking of #bargainbin … when I was in college, probably around 2008, I was newly obsessed with #mfdoom and trying to find some music by his original late 80’s/early 90’s group KMD. But you couldn’t buy the CDs anywhere, even used, and this was way before streaming—there was one KMD song on YouTube (Peachfuzz), and the rest was completely inaccessible to me. I was bummed. The same month I was going through all these machinations trying to find this music, I was browsing records at Half Price Books (used to be a good place to buy vinyl!) and found this two-disc best of KMD for FIFTY CENTS. What are the odds? In any case, it doesn’t sound anything like MF DOOM, but if you like early De La Soul and Tribe Called Quest it’s worth hearing. FRUIT HAUL! 🍊🍊🍊 Decided to get these from the unofficial bargain bin of my local neighbourhood stall. Got them for RM4 (less than USD1!) - I was a bit shy that I was getting the overripe fruit and had to tell them I wanted to juice this. Which is mostly true - technically I’m blending them up. Except for the bananas which I’m turning into nice cream. I never ask for a discount from them (unlike the other regular uncles and aunties) and I go twice a week to get my fruit so I shouldn’t actually feel bad. 🍏🍏🍏 Maybe I should use the oranges to make an orange creme for my chocolates? 🥭 The pomegranates will go into my salads.
