here is my half baked furies theory; the furies are obviously high ranking in apokolips but they are also largely isolated. so everyone knows OF them but unless you fuck up bad you never actually SEE them. and, the furies obviously are not very loyal individuals to anyone but each other (see; how quick they were to defect in mister miracle v1 once barda, who is a traitor by all definitions of the word & more importantly left them, asked it of them), so i believe granny goodness kept them separate from everyone else partly as a way to make sure their loyalty remains with darkseid instead of the people. like am i making sense. barda was very quick to defect after auralie, and that does not indicate she is used to seeing cruelty done to people unable to defend themselves (her & most of her girls). like the furies above the people of apokolips and all but they also have their own barracks they obviously don’t leave very much unless they need to like beat some people’s heads in. it’s probably been just themselves as regular interaction for like a good decade by the start of mmv1, and keep in mind when scott defects, he is twenty, meaning barda and as such the furies are around the same age as well. it makes sense for granny goodness to keep them isolated because they’re Prodigies and Special who cannot be tainted with the filth that is the children in the orphanage, but also as a way to make sure all they know is each other & her. because they ARE prodigies they ARE special but they are also very powerful and she cannot afford them on anyone's side other than hers so she just eliminates the chance entirely. whenever the furies get to bash some heads in it’s like their outing.
