Please Just Get Together
-Sincerely, Everyone.
Summary: It’s clear to everyone that Eislyn and Vil simply do not get along. That’s what G assumed too, until they began to notice the little things.
Content/Warnings: possible mischaracterization, odd timing, slight Geo mention, Dawn and G are the number one Vislyn shippers.
a/n: Eislyn and Dawn both belong to my lovely moot Barbs ( @viilpstick). I also referenced her fic which you can read here

It started during VDC practices.
G sighed, leaning against the wall as now familiar bickering echoed throughout. Their lovely, wonderful dorm mate Eislyn was currently exchanging heated bickering with none other than Vil Schoenheit himself.
Not that I blame her but oh my goodness. They thought. Another leaned on the wall next to them.
“They’re really going at it this time, huh?” Dawn murmured quietly as she too observed the familiar arguments, leaning in as to not draw attention from the others.
G nodded in agreement. “5 thaumarks one of them storms out in a huff.” They replied lowly. Dawn giggled at that.
“Last time it was Vil-do you think they are perhaps taking turns?” She asked.
“Probably.” They replied.
“G! Dawn! Grim! Come along, we are leaving!” Eislyn’s voice snapped them out of their conversation. The two looked up to see Eislyn and Grim halfway out the door.
G and Dawn exchanged a knowing look before hurrying after her.
Later that night G found themself in Eislyn’s room as the girl recounted the events that led up to their latest argument, angrily pacing all the while.
“He’s so annoying! Keeps telling me how to act and look-I’m sick of it! Honestly!” She flopped down onto the bed with a huff. “He needs to mind his own business!”
G sympathetically nodded as they patted her back. “There there.” They said in an attempt to comfort. A very poor attempt.
Eislyn sighed, rolling over onto her back to stare at the ceiling. “He says that I am ‘holding back’.” She muttered. “Pray tell, how am I holding back? I simply do not wish to confine to his standards!”
All G could do was let her rant. And pray that one of these arguments doesn’t end up with Vil being sent to the nurse’s office.
Then things slowly started to…shift, in a way. It first started out small. Whenever G happened to be around as moral support, they would notice Vil watching Eislyn. At first it was critical, scanning for imperfections-something Eislyn seemed to hate.
“He watches as if I am below him!” She had once huffed. “As if I do not fit his perfect little ideal!”
But then that piercing gaze turned soft. Whenever Vil thought Eislyn wasn’t looking, he’d stare at her in what G could only determine to be a mix of admiration and reluctance.
And so that’s how it went for a bit-G would catch Vil and Eislyn glancing at once another when the other wasn’t looking. Even Eislyn’s rants slowly became softer, her eyes less harsh at the thought of Vil. But she still refused to admit anything other than her previous complaints about him. G could only shake their head and sigh.
Stubborn, the both of them.

G opened the door to their room, ready to change out of their club wear.
“Hi G.”
They jumped, grabbing the crowbar and swinging around to see Dawn perched on their bed. They lowered the bar with a sigh. “Hi Dawn. Why are you in my room, dear?”
Dawn simply grinned. “You missed something interesting today~” She sang.
G arched an eyebrow, setting down the crowbar and their bag. “Oh? Was there another argument?” They asked.
The girl shook her head. “Nope.”
“Ace and Deuce fell again?”
“No.”
“Rook started sprouting elaborate poetry in the middle of the dance?”
“Well, yes, but that’s not what I’m talking about.”
“Alright, then what is it? Im out of ideas.” G said, sitting beside Dawn on the bed.
The younger one leaned in as if she was about to tell a big secret. G copied her movement, leaning in to hear what the other had to say.
“Vil gave Eislyn a gift.” Dawn whispered with glee.
G could only stare as they process the words. “Vil-as in Vil Schoenheit-gave Eislyn a gift?” They repeated incredulously.
Dawn nodded in affirmation. “And not just any gift, a purple bow-the same exact colors as the Pomefiore dorm.”
Now G was convinced. Vil was a top notch model with an eye for color, there’s no way he had accidentally given Eislyn a bow-one of her favorite accessories-in the colors of his own dorm. It simply wasn’t possible.
“Did Eislyn accept the gift?” G asked. Dawn nodded once more, smile so bright it could power Ramshackle for a whole decade.
“She wouldn’t stop staring at it! G, she looked like she was in love.”
————————————————————————
“Nice bow~” G teased as they fell into step with Eislyn. Dawn had already gone up ahead with Ace and Deuce, her blond hair shining in the sun as she laughed at something Ace had said.
Eislyn flushed, subconsciously touching the purple bow neatly nestled at the top of her ponytail. “It was a gift, that’s all.” She said.
“A gift from Vil Schoenheit nonetheless.” G replied.
“I simply couldn’t refuse it. That would be rude.” Eislyn countered.
“But isn’t it a coincidence that Vil of all people would give you something he knows you’d enjoy?” G asked. “After all these weeks of back and forth between you too, and all the sudden he gifts you your favorite accessory in his dorm color?”
Eislyn was quiet for a moment. Ah, did I go too far? G thought. That worry was dispelled quickly however, as Eislyn sighed.
“I suppose it was a…sweet gesture on his part.” She said with a slight smile. G grinned.
“Oooo~” they said, giggling as Eislyn swatted at them.
“Stop that! It’s just a gift!” She protested, laughing as well.
G continued to tease her until they reached the school. Upon which the teasing promptly stopped when they saw Vil standing there.
As if he was waiting for someone.
“I’m going to head to class. It seems like someone wants to see you~” G said. Before Eislyn could even protest, they had disappeared.
She’s going to kill me later for that.

After the VDC championship, G returned to the group with Leona. Only to not see Eislyn there.
“Where’s Lyn?” They asked Ace. He shrugged.
“Dunno, both her and Vil-senpai left shortly after the results. Probably to the nurse’s.” He replied.
Because she probably got injured during the overblot. G realized. I should go check on her-
A hand on their shoulder stopped them. They looked up to see Leona.
“She’ll be fine,” he muttered so that only they could hear. “It’s Eislyn. Plus she’s probably got some things to sort out.”
Ah, right. They sighed. “I guess.”
Leona patted their shoulder. “There we go. Cmon, let’s get you and the others situated.”
————————————————————————
A few days later
G watched as Eislyn and Vil walked arm in arm with a grin.
“You should be resting.” Leona’s gruff voice said. “Not staring at people.”
They looked at the lion beastman next to them. “Leo, I’m fine. The nurse said it was only some bruises.”
Leona rolled his eyes. “Bruises ya shouldn’t have even got.” He grumbled, making himself comfortable on the grass. “I don’t know why you’re even invested in them.”
“Because Lyn is my friend. And they’ve both been dancing around each other. It’s nice to see them together.” G replied.
There was a moment of silence before Leona spoke again.
“Eislyn can do better.”
G swatted at him.
