I am still playing catch up on my Bakes of the Week, so last week I made these delightful Grilled Garlic Knots! Ok fine, I cheated again because I still don't have a grill! Anyone else stress baking? I have made this apple cinnamon cake twice in three days and have a feeling I will be posting more cakes and bakes than usual... It is ridiculously easy to make, fragrant, moist and delicious! The next bake is this beautiful Tahini Poppy Seed Pound Cake! After all the pies and breads lately, it was nice to make something I could whip up in an hour or so! This cake is moist and wonderful, as can be expected of all pound cakes, but the tahini adds a nutty flavor and it's not overly sweet. However, as far as sesame based cakes go, I prefer this summer's Black Sesame Halva Coffeecake for its fun texture. This weekend I baked these beautiful Maritozzi from @kingarthurbaking as one of the previous Bakes of the Week! I can't recommend these enough - soft and fluffy brioche stuffed with homemade whipped cream! So simple and yet so decadent! I topped mine with a little chopped chocolate and pistachios, but they're just as delightful without. This weekend I tackled the next bake in the Bake of the Week series - Ginger Scallion Lobster Baos! These baos were sooo good and much easier than I anticipated! I don't eat shellfish so I skipped the lobster myself, but it had rave reviews from those who did enjoy it! Instead, I filled mine with my very favorite bao filling - pork belly!! I skipped this bake weeks ago because I wasn't certain what I'd do with it. Tomato Pie with Parmesan and Basil. I'll be honest with you, I almost skipped this one entirely because I despise tomatoes in all their forms. I won't eat them. What am I going to do with a tomato pie?? What even is a tomato pie?? Turns out it's thick slices of tomato surrounded by a savory cheesy custard. I'm told it was actually pretty good! But I'll never know! Looking for an easy, addicting, AMAZING bake? These S'more Granola Bars are incredible and came together so easily! By far the hardest part of baking these was waiting for them to fully cool before slicing so the chocolate layer in the middle wouldn't make a mess! They're great at room temperature but even better warmed up so you can fully enjoy the gooey marshmallow and melty chocolate! These did not last long at our house! The next bake was meant to be a Grilled Pizza, but we don't own a grill! So we cheated a bit and baked it in our Ooni pizza oven! But the pizza crust was easy, fast, and soooo good!
