what i notice is, it transforms him completely. it’s a serene and introverted image. 

knowing that this is his natural state and we rarely see it makes it special. double take potential, he’s dying it so often. now it matches his eyes, perfectly. so unusual to see him this way, it IS hard to come by, and it IS very compelling. look at those reflections.

when he grows it out clean or they dye it close to his original color, it’s jawdropping.

i actually took a color palette to find out which type of black it is since there are dozens. it’s the shade/tone of literal gems and jewels. 

baekhyun’s hair is colored like black jade and obsidian. (my favorite picture in this thread is this one)

sometimes i feel like baekhyun also behaves differently when he grows it out. it’s hard to explain. he feels more centered. maybe it’s because he associates off-stage or pre-idol life with it. when his hair is black, baekhyun is candid.

it’s more of a quiet reflection type of impression. i never see him as melancholic and vulnerable.

i don’t know if it’s coincidence or how he sees himself with his natural color. you hardly see baekhyun pensive this way.

nor as authentically confident. like yes, it’s baekhyun, just being me, sovereign but humble and open. he just comes across as different.

it also makes for a good stage image, acting, and photo shoot style. it gives him gravity to become this kind of solemn character.

bonus: what makes me feral — when he dyed it and the tone fades or even more so, the roots (!!) begin to show. i’ve lost my mind over this. 

especially the cute black pupper sideburns always peeking. once you know it, you spot them everywhere in his pictures.

sunshine grew up to be a massive talent. there is not one track you could skip on his solo albums. 🎵 it’s for any mood and place.

tenor singing prodigy, transitions well into every register even the 5th octave, can climb up to C#6. has grown extremely stable, his soaring belts are absolutely mad. his voice has a natural strong projection and his pitch nowadays... blows your mind. it’s bright and warm and big and it’s great. he’s practicing like a madman to give us the best singing possible. looking at his gestures you know it comes from the heart.

same with dancing. he learns it just by watching the other members. he’s more athletic than people assume.

so — i swear his body is oohh... damn stupid. 

[EDIT: may i add he did martial arts and does pilates? on top of being in great shape he has nice coordination and flexibility]

everyone’s favorite feature: his neck is already so inviting in its natural state, don’t even look when he’s singing.

finally: on top of being best boy eye candy (pun intended) and officially a genius idol all-rounder, baekhyun is special and saves the day whenever. he works hard to always improve and always feels strong concerns for other people’s sorrows.
