🩹 Oh this is difficult. Maybe fae whump? I just love fae characters, and there is so much whump to go with it. Like binding them in iron or things with deals, capturing them, taking their power away, experimentation... (Can you tell I mainly like the fae as a Whumpee? lol) It's great!

⛓️ I like Whumper who are definitely in the wrong for doing what they're doing, but you can also kinda see how they ended up here? Not in a 'it's for the greater good' type of way, but just their backstory makes it make sense how they're here. Maybe they think they're justified, maybe it's revenge, maybe it's a mix of things. They're still 100% wrong and Whumpee doesn't deserve this, but you also feel a bit sad for Whumper, because they were also wronged, and you just wish everyone could've gotten a better outcome.

This is 49 hours by ScribeOfRhapsody on ao3.

It's a ff15 fic, where one of the characters gets kidnapped (for you guessed it, 49 hours). It's so good. So much tension and whump, both emotional and physical. It hurt me. The ups and downs are just. So well done. Love it.

4. Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?

Big YES! :D I think the biggest discovery for me was Uketsu, an author who prefers to stay anonymous, all that's known is that he's a Japanese man who makes YouTube videos wearing a mask and all black clothing - well, and he writes ;) I read his book "Strange Pictures" and finished it in 3 days because I just couldn't put it down, it was so good! I won't spoil anything here, I just really wanna recommend it! "Strange Houses" is already waiting on my TBR pile ;)

Another one is Gianna Lange, a German author who just published her first book "Und dann springen wir". It's a story about a young woman in college who just lost her mom and who decides to travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina where she spent part of her childhood to reconnect with her memories from long ago. That book isn't just a thrilling description of that roadtrip, but also so beautifully written, it's like poetry in the shape of a novel. I love it! And the fact that the author basically lives around the corner from me makes it even better :D

The third one has to be Tove Ditlevsen. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I didn't know this great Danish author before... @b0amagination and I went to an open house event at our local theater and two actresses were reciting poems from Tove Ditlevsen to passers-by and of course we had to stop to get our own personal recital. Took them 2 minutes to make me cry because Tove's writing touched me on a very deep emotional level. We bought tickets for their performance of Tove's "Copenhagen Trilogy" then and right after leaving the theater, I started reading the books. I'm still so hyped! What a woman!

14. What books do you want to finish before the year is over?

"The Twisted Ones" by Scott Cawthon. Again, it was my dear spouse who got me very invested in the FNAF series and since I'm a bookworm, I wanted to read the books to get a bit of background info. I'm almost finished with part 2 now (like maybe 80%?) and I wanna finish it before the year is over :3

20. What was your most anticipated release? Did it meet your expectations?

At this point it very much feels akin to a very long distance group hug. The wonder of the internet. Feel the affection! I demand it!
