“I’m not going to just because you asked.” Cinder dead panned, feeling her grip tense around the edge of her mug. The casual lean she had taken over top of the cafe chair become more tense as she glowered at the pools of silver before her.

“Oh come on…” Ruby Rose sighed, whimpered, and drooped. Cinder swore if she kept manipulating her face like that the mutt of a human was going to begin weeping into her cup of barbaric sugar and coffee.

“No.” Cinder hissed, “If you wish for me to laugh like a trained animal, then you make a poor trainer.”

Ruby blinked then, “Wha- No! No, no, no! I didn’t mean it like-…” She seemed to force herself to look away from the former arch enemy. “N-no, I just, I really like your laugh. Not the haute villain one, well, kinda that one.” Cinder remained coldly on her. “I just, I think your real laugh is mmm. I dunno, charming?”

The wording may have been poor, and the glint in the girl’s eyes may have been squarming. But Cinder couldn’t help but lull a quiet and simple growl of a laugh. Reaching over as she did so and flicking the girl’s nose.

“What a runt you turned out to be, Red.”
