[ID: Ten gifs of Katara and Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Six of the gifs have text written across them from Salma Deera’s The Burning Ones. All gifs except for the fifth have the color blue emphasized. 

Gif 1: Azula's back is facing the audience while she is in the Ba Sing Se catacombs. A large pillar of water is approaching her. She bends down while firebending creating a large blast of blue fire which stops the water. Across the center of the gif it says: “If history says anything.”

Gif 2: Katara is facing the audience in the catacombs of Ba Sing Se. She is next to a small stream of water and begins closer to the audience while bending the stream. It closes ups of her face, with green gems reflecting in her eyes. The camera changes angles, Katara’s back now facing the camera as she bends the water onto Azula who is in the back of the shot. Azula firebends to block it, and Katara spirals herself and the water and attacks Azula again. 

Gif 3: Azula is seen from the waist up, her back to the audience. She is in her Royal Fire Nation armor which is a bright red. She brings up her right hand to swish her right bang. The background of the gif is the sea which is bright blue. There are two rocky islands in the distance. The camera is panning the background to the right to indicate that the boat (not pictured) Azula is on is moving.

Gif 4: Katara is seen from the shoulders up, facing the audience, staring off screen to the left. Her eyebrows are furrowed in concentration. Her hair loops swing in slow motion from left to the right. Water droplets also swing in slow motion from left to right. Her mouth slowly curves into a smirk. Across the center of the gif it says: “If it says anything at all, it is this:”

Gif 5: Azula’s side profile takes up the left side of the gif. Her hair is down and shown to be wet. She is panting heavily, her expression angry, tired, and frustrated. The space around her is gone over with a brush to be light red. Across the gif, aligned on the right, it says: “All women know how to do is burn.” 

Gif 6: Katara’s side profile takes up the right side of the gif. Loose strands of her hair are falling into her face. Her hair loopies are handing off of her face. Her expression is determined. She takes a deep breath, and leans her head back, gritting her teeth. The space around her is gone over with a brush to be light blue. Across the gif, aligned on the left, it says: “If history says anything—”

Gif 7: Azula’s left eye takes up the entire space, flashing to reflect her lightning. You can see Aang’s electrocuted body being reflected in her eye. The camera slowly pans out to show Azula’s arm outstretched, and index and middle finger together, still smoldering from the lightning. The Ba Sing Se catacombs around her are edited to be dark blue, making Azula’s skin appear slightly darker and cooler than normal. Across the center of the gif, it says, “And it says everything—” 

Gif 8: Katara is seen from the chest up in her Northern Water Tribe jacket (the Water Tribe jacket with the yellow circle on it). She is smiling and staring slightly off screen. She blinks once, and her smile grows larger. The camera is panning in on her face.

Gif 9: Azula is off center, slightly to the left, tilted to the right. She stands up quickly. Her hair is down, and the sky around her is a deep red. She quickly shoots bright blue fire out of her right hand, quickly followed by another blast from her left hand.
