If you did the headband in the avatar azula fic how would she be able to get into the fire nation school? I mean I think her accidently making Katara jealous by dancing with girls would be cute but how would she sneak in? I think they would easily recognize azula if she was in fire nation clothes unless she like cuts her hair or something.

This is why I left it out because it didn't make sense but in a disconnected one shot I can think of one option off the top of my head.
So before the invasion they want to find out what defences the Fire Nation will have in place for the eclipse. Sokka hears a teenage boy bragging about his dad being a general so they make a plan try and get more information.
They settle on Katara going to the local school because Azula is absolutely not allowed to. Katara could actually learn more about Fire Nation culture (And is shocked when a text book mentions Azula by name?)
Katara manages to get an invite the general son's party which they think will be a good chance to search for intel but Azula is intensely jealous that the guy thinks that Katara is his date
Azula sneaks into the party and is jealous when she sees Katara dancing with the guy (she is distracting him while Sokka goes into his dad's office)
By some miracle no one recognises Azula because she looks nothing like the images in the text books, so Katara takes the opportunity to dance with her

I will continue this fic, that’s for sure, but… I don’t know when. I started rereading it because I’d forgotten most of the story, and also because I wanted to get back into the mood/vibes of the fic, but I stopped at chapter 10… and I’m realizing that I’m still not ready to write the next chapter yet.
I’m not abandoning this fic. I love it too much, and soulmate Azutara is way too important to me. But ugh, I wish I could just write it without overthinking everything…

for the fic prompt, what abt azutara, Katara having doubts about their relationship long term because she thinks Azula will pick living in the Fire Nation when in reality Azula was ready to pack up and move to the south pole from the start but she was waiting for Katara to just ask her? Azula notices how katara is distancing herself and finally asks her why the silent treatment and Katara breaks and tells her worries?

I know you said you liked kataang and zukaang is your otp and I was wondering who would be your otp for katara (like if kataang didn't exist). It might be a little crazy but I think I like her with azula (provided that azula goes through a redemption arc first bc otherwise they wouldn't work for me). and as for healthier and more plausible ships I also really liked her with haru and toph.
Hmm that’s a good question! Obviously I’m a big fan of Sukitara because of how I’m writing them in TAatFP, but I really love Katoph as well, maaaaybe even a bit more than Sukitara, though I see them getting together as late teenagers/adults rather than during the events of the show. Azutara/Kazula is also a ship I love, it has SO much potential, and I think if Azula’s redemption arc is handled carefully, it would be a beautiful ship!
Honestly, other than Aang, there’s not really any male characters I ship Katara with lol. Haru has always kinda felt like a nothingburger character to me (sorry Haru 😭), and while I understand why people ship Katara with Zuko, I’ve never vibed with it personally, even as a kid.
