OC design for @scarredkitty
Zaken the Collector is one of the many unfortunate folk that sign their life away to clear a debt they didn't agree to carry but have to endure nontheless. I was tasked to put a body under the initial design and we worked out some lore-accurate terms and reasons for the design choices o the original adopt and his name, which was originally Shade.
Genuinely I'm so thrilled with how he came out, the black and neon are so tasty~
Thankfully, I've been wanting to play with "hair" for Task Managers and after a few passes with stacked arrays, I thought about Narii's fractal panes and gave that a whirl. They aren't exactly soft and a bit hard to style, but damn they look cool XD
Still working out the kinks with my rendering style but the subtle shading of his face was absolutely perfect.
One of the best parts to me is drawing compositions to show off the character in motion. The ability to project non-tactile light was already something Azil had and it worked perfectly to keep the tail holograms! Animal features are often considered intimidating so as a Collector, the menace is definitely useful for getting people to fess up about where his mark is.
