Ā Ā Ā Ā ROAN CALMLY WAITS at the otherās bedside, hands coming up to fold together behind his back. To give the healer some space to tend to Clarkeās wounds, Roan steps away and comes to stand at the foot of the bed instead. Itās quiet for a few, long moments, and Roan doesnāt even try to hide how heās letting his gaze roam over Clarkeās body. His eyes are narrowed, taking in the wounds that were clearly meant to inflict pain instead of doing some serious damage.
Ā Ā He doesnāt meet her gaze until sheās done talking and he acknowledges her words with a few nods before he replies. Heās not surprised she doesnāt TRUST him. After all, she has no reason to do so.
Ā āI figured as much,ā he starts, slowly. Thereās a short pause then and Roan briefly eyes the healer before he gives Clarke a nod. āThere are things that need to be taken care of. I will be back later. If you need anything, please call for one of the guards stationed at your door. Iāll make sure they know about it.āĀ
thereās no denying it. sheās GLADĀ for a moment alone. the healer may be present, but itās oneĀ
less person to be around, one less person to see her so WEAK-- so frail, as if she might justĀ
give in and BREAKĀ at any given moment. itās not a position sheād ever enjoy being in. if thereāsĀ
ONE THINGĀ clarke griffin is not-- itās a damsel in distress. it makes her skin crawlĀ to think thatĀ
the only way her torture had stopped, was perhaps at roanāsĀ hands. that it wasnāt something sheĀ
could get out of herself. how had she gotten so WEAKĀ that she couldnāt do it for herself.Ā
she curls in on herself when possible-- when the cleaning of her wounds doesnāt prevent suchĀ
things. and sheās left just THINKINGĀ about this-- about the fact that without roanās word, nia mayĀ
never have stopped. she could have been DEADĀ soon enough. she hates it, but the fact stands thatĀ
she needs to thankĀ him. to find a more sincere way of saying it. even if the words taste bitter on herĀ
tongue. she has to say them and mean it. and find a way to get out of his debt. although perhaps theĀ
fact he did it, means theyāre equal. the return for him capturing her in the first place. could sheĀ
really forgive him for that?Ā part of her thinks that perhaps-- perhaps the prince of azgeda has justĀ
proved worthy of wanhedaās forgiveness, for saving her life, essentially.Ā
soon enough, sheās fully alone again. and itās eating away at her. she stared, eyes fixed on theĀ
ground-- forehead still a little clammy after all of the abuseĀ to her tired body. all she can thinkĀ
about is why he did it. why he intervened and potentially saved her life. she needs ANSWERS.Ā
