Wip ask game time: 7 12 and 14
hello! [shoves calendar off of desk]
7. do you outline before writing? if so, what’s your outlining process like?
i am an extremely thorough outliner for multichaps - as in, sometimes my outline is thorough enough that i can copy paste parts of it into the fic itself with minimal editing/additions lol 😬 (i’m honestly not sure whether this helps or hurts me djfhkdsjf.)
with oneshots, usually my outline is just a few sentences of me informally talking to myself at the beginning of the doc. and oftentimes, shorter fics will just sorta spill out of me without any specific outline-able plot in mind - in those cases, i only write a few barebones bullet points of outlining if i’m not able to finish the fic in that one sitting.
12. what’s a wip that you’re determined to finish?
[guilty sigh] all along. i love that story too much to leave it unfinished, even though progress is going Very Slowly fdfhdjf. (fun fact, we’re 29 days away from the one year anniversary of me posting ch 1!)
also, i mentioned this wip in the other ask i just answered from this wip game - it’s a fic examining how lena’s autism affects her ability to have sex, and how she’s able to learn to accommodate her sensory issues so that she can have pleasurable sex. it’s a really important fic to me for a lot of reasons, but most of all, i’m determined to publish this fic so that something like it exists out there. i don’t want anyone else to go through that holy shit, will i never be able to have sex? moment only to find zero (0) helpful resources, and feel even more broken because of that. (maybe that line of thinking is somewhat god-complex-y of me, but. yeah :))
14. what’s your favorite thing about writing?
fdkfhjdkfh okay bestie, in case it isn’t already very obvious, ~80% of the stuff i write is just me projecting onto fictional characters. writing fic is an important way for me to process and organize my feelings about all sorts of stuff, and i love being able to transform a tangled mess of negative emotions that swarming around my head into something coherent and beautiful (and sharable! being able to connect with other humans over stuff i’ve written is also super super cool).
