Quick overview
A small disclaimer, due to Hauteclere getting a buff some things I say here might end up changing, and I wanted to wait but they just had to release his GHB again with a infernal mode. Anyway though Michalis for a while was considered quite decent... till people learnt his sister did pretty much everything he did but with speed. Thats really his main flaw, a lack of speed which holds him back, a amazing weapon, defence and attack all make him a solid unit, but also means he’s somewhat predictable in how he is run. Mind you if you’re looking for GHB units to upgrade you can’t go that wrong with him.
Base kit
Michalis comes with the Hauteclere an amazing legendary weapon, or it was till slaying weapons came but it’s getting a boost soon so there’s not much else to say, -1 on special triggers is really enjoyable. Rising thunder however is not so enjoyable even with its buff coming, it’s just not that good, considering Michalis is better at tanking than other roles. Iotes shield is actually a somewhat decent skill, however its more insurance policy if anything, while he can use it well with his base defence there’s just better A skills. Its great for new players but once you get better at the game you should have learnt how to deal with archers without the need for it. Finally threaten defence is amazing for him, allowing him to tank a hit and dish out a tad more.
B skill wise quick riposte is great, as is something like Vantage. Axebreaker and Lance breaker help him gain KOs in some areas he might struggle in otherwise.. Reposistion is his best assist as with all fliers.

Hauteclere, reposition, Bonfire/Ignis
Slot A = Defiant attack, fury, fire boost, fierce stance, steady stance
Slot B = Vantage, Quick riposte
Slot C = Threaten defence
So the best way to use Michalis is to abuse his 50 attack and 35 defence as much as you can. Bonfire and ignis make great use of this being a 2/3 turn cool down instead of the normal 3/4. His A slot is dependant on his B slot if more so. There’s too options. Vantage or Quick riposte. Quick riposte allows you to have great offence presence when above the threshold but it will normally last one match before going. However it picks up a lot of Kos. The other option is Vantage which is what I personally use, and offers greater longevity by being able to tank a hit, followed then by a first strike and hopefully a full charged special. Once chosen just go with defensive A slots like steady stance for quick riposte or more offensive ones for vantage, defiant attack pairs well with it, as it pushes you to 57 attack when at 50% while fire boost and fierce stance push you to 56. Fury can only be used for Vantage though otherwise its a bad option. Finally threaten defence is a solid option to weaken enemies who survive and finish them off next turn. Basically Michalis is a revenge killer if anything
