Anime Hoe

I’m really not sure if I’m going to like it. I had a friend recommend it to me and they compared it in various ways to My Hero Academia and I just don’t see it. I mean, I see the blatantly obvious similarities but other than two people being powerless and then gaining some sort of power that’s about it for me.

The main character of LWA Akko, I find her to be kind of annoying and dumb in really obvious kinds of ways. It should be basic witch knowledge that to invoke magic an actual incantation needs to be said but she seems to be completely ignorant to something so simple. It’s painful actually. I’m fairly certain anyone born without magic would be able to pick up on that simple concept. Incantations=power in just about any magical fantasy world. So the fact she tries to make magic happen with just basic every day commands is irritating and honestly she should feel as embarrassed as she does. Whereas, Izuku realizes to truly be the hero he’s always dreamed of being he needs a quirk but that’s just not going to be enough so he works towards it before he even inherits his powers. Akko thinks that just because she found a wand she can wield magic even though she should be able to connect the dots that the first time she even used the wand she had said an incantation that someone else told her to recite. It’s kind of painful to watch.

The art is pretty and nice to look at though it’s nothing intricate. Even in the aspect I must say I prefer the artwork in My Hero more. Though character design is nice for both.
