i remember staring at my laptop screen in disbelief and in fear and in betrayal and with desperation and with fear while the fireworks went out on the streets.

i feel like if i was smarter or faster or more skilled maybe it could've been prevented. maybe if i was a bit more like him, derek wouldn't have to die. god, what am i even doing with myself.

derek, i know you told me not to feel like i failed you, but i can't help it. i did, i did fail you, and you've paid the price. you saved me and i couldn't return the favour.

It doesn't feel like anything has changed from my canon in this life which makes it so much harder. I used to go "man why am I such a people pleaser and feel odd awful nostalgia when people take advantage of that" and sfawtde comes out and I go "oh" and then dawtde comes out and i go "oh".

I keep having this just bad thoughts that if I at least became a vessel there wouldve been something worthwhile that I coldve been useful for. But I know he wouldn't have wanted that
