Name: Alexander “Alex” Colin McCall

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Alex looks a lot like his father but there’s just enough of his mother in his appearance that there’s no doubt that he is his parents’ son. The only thing he didn’t inherit from either of them is his hazel eyes but, ya know, genetics. One of his best features is his bright smile that Marlee swears is all Scott’s doing. His go-to outfit includes jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers. (Though he sometimes switches out the sneakers for boots, an homage to his parents’ love for them.)

Personality: Alex is one of the more well-liked individuals in school because while he acts like the “big man on campus”, he’s also genuinely nice to people. (Well, most of the time.) One is likely to find him throwing smiles and cracking jokes with others in the hallway. While he and his sister both inherited their mother’s love of music, he likes rock more than anything else- that doesn’t mean you won’t catch him humming along to something like an old Taylor Swift song at home. Speaking of his sister, he loves to spend time annoying her but secretly she’s his best friend. Loyalty runs strong in their family and the two siblings are no exception. He is extremely protective of her and isn’t afraid to throw a punch to defend her honor. Similar to Marlee, math isn’t really his forte but his dad helps him get through it. Otherwise, Alex is rather intelligent but he doesn’t like to show it off.

Special talents: For one, Alex is a werewolf, just like his dad. (Being the werewolf son of the True Alpha is both freaking awesome yet totally overwhelming.) He struggles with it at times but overall, he’s managed it pretty well. At school, he’s captain of the swim team and a member of student council. He’s taken up boxing as a hobby, though he can only really do it with other supernatural beings due to his strength. (After a lot of begging, he’s convinced his mom to go up against him once or twice.) He also rules at hacky sack and is learning to play bass guitar.

Who they like better: He likes them both but he is lowkey a mama’s boy. Alex has a certain respect for his mom because while Scott can be authoritative in a levelheaded True Alpha-way, Marlee isn’t afraid to clap back at her son whenever he steps out of line. She won’t hesitate in the slightest to set him straight if need be; he both loathes and admires that about her.

Who they take after more: Though he does share some of his dad’s qualities, Alex takes after Marlee more, as he gained her sarcasm and temperament. They butt heads at times because of this but the situation tends to blow over soon after.

Personal headcanon: When Marlee was pregnant with Alex, she and Scott were both extremely nervous about becoming parents. Sometimes it would be the middle of the night and Scott would have to reassure her that she was going to be an awesome mother. Meanwhile Scott was determined to be the best father he could be, not wanting his child to ever experience the type of relationship he had with his own father growing up. The minute Alex was born though, they both completely fell in love with him. They were a bit unsure of themselves at first but they quickly got the hang of things, with the help of their friends and family.

Face Claim: Noah Centineo

Name: Avery Luna McCall

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Avery inherited her mom’s blonde hair and pale complexion, which are paired with brown eyes and angular facial features that she got from her dad. She wears a lot of plaid, leather, and denim- but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have girly clothes. (Her Aunt Lydia makes sure to influence her.) Marlee also gave Avery quite a few of her old rings and necklaces from when she was her age. Her favorite makeup is, of course, her eyeliner.

Personality: Avery is rather well-behaved- when you subtract her family members and friends from the equation. (After all, she is related to the Keatings and grew up with the McCall pack as a constant in her life.) People do tend to be surprised when she starts spouting off swear words. (There is no doubt that she is Marlee’s daughter.) She and her brother are both well-liked at school, though she prefers to remain a little bit more low-key than he does. Avery has learned how to juggle school, extracurricular activities, her social life, and the supernatural. She does get stressed out about it but luckily she has the support of those around her. She loves reading, listening to music, and watching TV shows and movies- just like her mom. She’s the perfect blend of sweet and sassy.

Special talents: While Avery didn’t inherit her mother’s supernatural powers, some of the qualities are there. She is more in tune with nature than most people are. The two regularly go on walks through the woods and have a big garden that they attend to. Avery also does ballet and tap dancing. (The dances they perform in her tap classes are commonly pop songs.) She can recite almost every line in The Breakfast Club and has an extensive knowledge of several book series.

Who they like better: She likes both of her parents pretty equally. She adores almost everything about them.

Who they take after more: I’d say she takes after Scott just a bit more, as she’s calm and optimistic. She also wants to be a veterinarian, like him, except she wants to work with zoo animals. (It helps that animals seem to love her.)

Personal headcanon: Young Avery has a habit of interacting with people that share names with people the pack have met before. (Marlee is not about that life and Scott has to be the voice of reason.)

Marlee tells her first grader daughter that she’s not allowed to make friends with the girl in her class named Jennifer.

“I have never met a nice Jennifer. It’s an evil name. Some might even say it’s a curse.”

“Marlee stop.”

“You listen to me, McCall. That crazy lady almost ruined our lives. I refuse to let another Jennifer ruin the lives of our children.”

“You know you’re a McCall too, right?”

“That’s not the point!”

A few years down the line, when Avery is in fourth grade, she tells her parents that she has a crush on a boy named Theo. Marlee’s right eye twitches and she walks to her and Scott’s bedroom to scream into a pillow. She calls Stiles and he freaks.

“Little McCall- no. Theos are terrible people and are not to be trusted. I bet you that he’s already started forging permission slips, that little devil.”

Scott is just like, “Guys, staaaaaahp.”

Even though he had betrayed them…she couldn’t stop loving him. it wasn’t as simple as that. He was the first guy she’d ever loved like that. He was her Allison as she once told her brother. But, then again, when the love of your life tries to kill your brother, things change.

When Theo had returned to Beacon Hills, it was clear that his ony intereset was not just Scott’s pack. The year younger sister of his old best friend had caught his eye right away. What once was a crush on him, turned into a crush on her. Avery Mccall, the girl that used to follow him around whenever he went over to their house to play with Scott and Stiles. How she raced to show him that she could keep up in video games or that she could understand what they were joking about. After two years of this her crush fizzled out and she prefered sticking to her own activities such as reading or art. Theo hadn’t noticed much of that at the time, but now he wanted to close the distance between them and never let her go.

She almost convinced him to not follow through with his plan, but the idea of power and being able to have the group that Scott had surrounding him took over. “If I’m the alpha, she’ll be by my side anyway. She won’t have to know about Scott…” He told himself repeatedly trying to keep himself sane. It had almost been that way too, Avery was falling more and more in love with Theo and could only see the guy that came back and was growing into the pack as a good friend and ally.

Everything changed however when she was in the library at the school late at night studying. She heard crashes on thel ower level and walked over in time to see Liam attacking Scott. She thought about steping in, but as a human, knew she would get torn apart if she got in the way of Liam’s rage. On top of that, Scott saw her from the side of his eye and shook his head, telling her to keep her distance. By the end of the night, she had seen the guy she loved kill her brother and found out that he had been lying to them…to her…the entire time.

Avery raced down to where Scott was lying and sobs rushed out of her. She could barely hear her mother calling out his name after what seemed like forever. “Scott! Scott!” Melissa rushed to Scott’s other side, “No, no no, no, no, no, no.” She mumbled out panting. Their mother started compressions and Avery shook, “W-what are you doing?” She asked half confused. He was dead, lying in front of them not breathing, what would this do? Nothing.

“Bringing him back.” Melissa said, not taking her eyes of Scott. “Mom, his heart…He-he hasn’t had a pulse in over minutes. Y-you can’t bring someone back that’s-” She started. Melissa now looked up at her with determination, “He’s not someone Avery. He’s my son. He’s your brother. And he’s an Alpha. And he’s too strong to die like this!” She continued CPR and hit his chest causing Scott to roar and his eyes to glow red as he came back. “Scott!” Avery wrapped her arms around her older brother and he hugged her tightly, his mother wrapping her arms around the both of them.

She couldn’t forgive Theo for this…right? It took all the strength in her to tell herself that every day. When she saw him at school trying to make his way to her, she had to slip through the crowd until she was either hidden away, or far out of his reach.

Theo couldn’t function. He couldn’t sleep, eat, or go more than five minutes without snapping at one of his ‘betas’. Avery was his new lifeline, the reason he got up in the morning, and the reason he wanted to take everything back, just to get her back in his arms. When he finally was able to catch her before leaving a class he closed the door and she avoided his eyes.

“Avery. Ry baby please…” She shook her head, “Don’t. Don’t call me that, don’t talk to me. Why are you even still here? You have what you wanted don’t you?! You killed him Theo, you killed my brother!” She said her voice as loud as it could be without alerting anyone outside the door to their conversation. “I know, but Ry-Avery…if I could take it back, if I could have you again, I would. I never had power and I never will…especially if you’re not by my side.” he said stepping forward causing her to take a step back.

“It didn’t work…that’s why you’re still here. That’s why you’re not attacking them. You’d take it back because you didn’t have a chance. I’m tired of your lies Theo. Just leave me alone!” She said, her voice breaking at the last word as she stormed out of the classroom.

The rest of Theo’s encounters with the pack, Eichen House, the tunnels, locker rooms, anything—he tried to stay close to Avery. His eyes drawn to her every few seconds, as if he were begging her to look over at him. But she didn’t.

She kept her eyes on Scott or Stiles who would stand between her and Theo. Once they had reconciled between each other, they rushed to her side and stayed with her through the pain. Eventually she had simply told them she felt nothing anymore for Theo and that she was fine. It was easier then them hovering around her every second, even if it was the biggest lie she ever told. Of course Scott could tell from her heartbeat, but decided to respect her decision.

When it came time, and Kira plunged her sword into the ground, Avery felt time stop. She saw Tara grab onto Theo and begin dragging him. Everything in her head telling her that it was for the best and that she needed to forget about everything that happened and move on disappeared and she raced forward only stopped by Scott and Stiles. “Theo! No!” She screamed and cried as he slipped further into the ground. He knew it was pointless trying to fight so he looked at her one last time and whispered, “I love you.”

Then his grip loosened and he was taken away, the ground closing back up after him. Avery fell to her knees at the spot crying, and the group gave her time to mourn. Even after all the things he had done, they still understood that she loved him.

4 weeks later…

Avery P.O.V.

“Avery baby please come downstairs and eat something.” I hear my mom ask from the doorway of my dark room. I’ve been in here since Theo…I just don’t feel like leaving. I’ve been able to do some things for school online, they also had to shut down for a while do to the issues in the library and basically the fact that there was a murder on campus. I’ve really only missed a solid week of things that are important.

“No thanks. I’m not hungry.” I mumble hoping she heard. I feel the bed dip besides me and she runs her fingers through my hair, “You say that every day. Please. Something small, fruit or toast, or hey, I could make your favorite for dinner?” She said hopeful.

I sigh and lean into her. They’ve all been trying. Scott comes in every night to check on me, Stiles at one point brought his laptop and put starwars on while we sat in bed, he held me and didn’t say a thing. It was nice. Lydia tried to get me out of bed at one point to leave the house, but quickly realized all efforts were useless. She did however start the shower and literally dragged me out of bed.

“Sweetheart I love you, but you need to shower. Cmon the waters running, you go and I’ll pick out clothes. I’ll keep to your comfy vibe don’t worry. Avery…are you alive in there?” I huff and turn to look at her, “I’m too tired Lyds.” I say and cover my face with the comforter. “You’ve forced my hand.” She says, and the next thing I feel is her pulling me off the bed from my ankle, “Hey!”

“Okay.” I say and she smiles.

2 months later…

“Scotty! I’m home. I’ve got that weird smoothie thing you like…” I stop my sentence seeing blood trailing from Malia’s hands. I rush over and pick them up, “Are you okay?” I ask but see that they’re in good shape. If it’s not hers…

I turn and see Scott and Liam blocking someone, “Who is that? Is that the Stiles guy?” I try to peer over them but they move with my eye line. I groan and huff, “Guys cut it out.” Liam steps forward placing his hands on my shoulders, “Look, we don’t know how long this is going to last, so don’t…get attached?” He ended as if it were a favor.

He steps aside and my heart stops and starts again for the first time in months. “Theo?”
