Jacob had only gotten lost about a dozen times around town... Since the river spit him out in this place he’d only had a couple of months to adjust to this life, but of course at first they didn’t let him wander around, not when he still had to relearn how to be a functioning member of a society. He’d only been allowed out about a month ago, a month in which he had to start fending for himself, had gotten a job with Aliza and had begun his unofficial ‘How many times can I get lost in this town’ count. Not that he kept count, but today was actually number twelve. “Hey. Sorry to bother you but could you point me towards this address?” he said, handing over a crumpled paper where he’d written down where he lived. He kept that piece of paper with him at all times. He had forgotten everything once, after all. There was no way to know if he would forget again.
