taking the Stares (TM) but ignoring the forced hetero romance subplot :)

@ Fanfic writers, which do you prefer?
Should I credit the fic when posting a tag or keep it anonymous?
Yes, credit the fic (the person made the funny tag they should be credited)
No, keep it anonymous (it could bring unwanted / negative attention to the fic)
Other / depends (detail in the comments)
hii so i never like ever post anything else than tags but lately i've been wondering about this question. i never credit fics on my ao3 tags posts because tbh i just screenshot a tag and can sometimes keep it for months in my dedicated folder + i also don't want to bring potentially unwanted attention to fics.
but one could argue the authors are doing the hard work here, so it would be only fair to credit them. i wouldn't mind trying to do the extra work of sourcing everything.
i would like mainly fanfic authors who post on ao3 to answer this, but the rest of yall, feel free to give your opinion too ig lol
thankssss okay bye
(PS: maybe i wont follow the results, but i would like to know!!)
Idea overwhelm can be a huge stumbling block for writers and their discovery drafts. Either you become paralyzed because you donβt know where to start or your story gets bogged down with so many unrelated ideas that make facing revisions feel unbearable. We get you!
The Build Your Romance exercise helps you practice focusing on the ideas that really matter to you with a given romance story. You will pick:
- 2 subgenres
- 1 genre style
- 1 setting
- 2 big tropes
- 3 micro tropes
- 1 misbelief for each character in the couple
This could be simply a fun activity to give you practice prioritizing or it might even be the start of your next story! Either way, weβd love to hear what you picked in the comments or in your reblog! Remember, within boundaries there is freedom. Have fun!!! π
