When a hobby begins to feel like a chore,that's your cue to step back. Last year,I adimitted I was taking a step back from cosplaying besides of budget reasons,I found that it felt like that I had hit a wall. Last year,all I did was attend cosplay meet ups which was great but deep down,I felt like I HAD TO. I felt like I HAD to attend meet ups because I wasn't attending cons,I felt like I HAD to create new costumes. I basically felt like I was working at a job that I hated and only went because I had no other choice. When I started cosplaying,it began a hobby.. a new addiction..a healthy addiction but still. It got to the point that I noticed my emotional changes just because of the cosplay world and I didn't like it...well..I liked some of the emotional changes but not all. It's okay not to have new content,it's okay to wear one cosplay over and over,it's okay to step back. What's not okay is forcing yourself to do something because you feel like you have too. To me,cosplaying isn't a job. I don't get paid to make costumes,I don't get paid to attend anything. It comes out of my own time and my own money. Both of which can add up way too quickly. This is a hobby. Don't feel pressured to keep going,if you hate it. Don't feel pressured because of your followers,Don't feel pressured because you need new content. Once all that pressure lifts away,that's your cue to realise there's more to cosplaying. Remember when you started in the first place.Is that reason still there? If the answer is NO,than maybe take a break until you find that reason,again. And Waitress Harley Quinn is fixed..for now..until the next time it begans to fall apart. Buttons are back on and the waistband of the skirt is sorted. At the moment Harley is going to be benched for the time being. It's been a year (i think?..maybe two years) since Waitress Harley has debuted and this was one of the comfiest cosplay that I have worn. Sure,it made people go "uh? Who are you supposed to be?" But that's okay. I'm proud of Waitress Harley.
