Personal post here, you have been warned.😉 So the last 6 months Villa-Lobos have pretty much killed any attempt at maintaining a set or pieces to perform. Which has been frustrating, to say the least. It had got to the point of where I couldn't even look at my repertoire as I had a mountain to climb to resurrect it. Until this Bach fugue. It's not one I've played before and through it I have reignited my passion for music again. And if I'm honest, I'm kind of happy where it's going. (Not fully formed yet, but that's what the video is for-to check my phrasing!) This is a snippet from a cold Friday morning last week, and yes forgive me it ends on the ii chord, but that's where my memory and reading ran out. The voice entry is lovely and clear due to the new set of strings, which help bring this alive, and because I'm trying my damndest to hear, and follow, each entry. Work in progress that I'll try and keep sharing, when brave enough. (On a really personal note playing a Bach fugue for me is like wrestling a lizard on the fretboard: never quite able to catch it.
