ℚ𝕆𝕋𝔻: What was your favorite read from this past month?⁣ ⁣ My favorite August read was definitely Legendborn by Tracy Deonn! Huge thank you to netgalley and @simonandschuster for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for my honest review. ⁣ ⁣ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⁣ ⁣ Legendborn is a urban fantasy inspired by the legend of King Arthur and his knights. The plot, characters, and world building were all excellent! This story was so original and so much fun! ⁣ ⁣ And even more important, Legendborn tells the story of a young black woman who is dealing with loss, grief, and finding herself all while confronting racism every single day. Legendborn directly addresses and confronts racism plus the history and continued impact of slavery, colonization, and oppression of Black men and women. At times it was heartbreaking to read, but I am so thankful that I was able to read Bree’s perspective. ⁣ ⁣ I highly recommend Legendborn!
