Tobirama lived all his life outside.
Butsuma-sama never considered Tobirama as his son, even accused his mother of cheating. Right after his birth, before Tobirama could even feel the warm embrace of his mother, his father brought him outside, naked and bloody, and just left him there. It was Lady Senju, dragging herself with her arms over the floor to reach her child, crying and cursing Butsuma. Small little Hashirama, frightened, ran ahead and brought his little baby brother back to his mother. There, on the floor between two doors, felt Tobirama his mothers love, her warmth, and drank his first milk and went to sleep.
As Butsuma found them, he brutally wretched the child away, completely ignoring Hashiramas begging, and left the crying baby outside again. He forbid everyone to bring that cursed thing back inside.
Lady Senju didn't listen and tried hard to bring her child back, to bring him inside the warm home, to safety, but was always brutally beaten down. She still tried. Day after day. She sneaked out, fed him. Tried to hide him back in her rooms. But Butsuma always found him. And always threw him out, like trash.
Butsuma learned early that no beating would stop Lady Senju, until he focused his anger and the punishment on Tobirama. Every time his stubborn wife went outside to bring him back, other men would hold her down and force her to watch her husband beat his own child. In fear that Tobirama would die, she stopped her attempts to bring him inside. After that, it got even harder and harder for her to find a chance to feed her baby.
("Be happy that I even let him live, woman! That cursed monster! If you ever try that again I will beat him again and again!", screamed Butsuma as his crying wife was dragged away from that thing.)
Hearing the cries of baby Tobirama melted many hearts, but they were to afraid to go against Butsumas orders. Until Lady Senju, hidden away by the clouds shrouding the moons light, went from door to door. She visited every home that had a mother with a baby. And she begged, fell to her knees, bowed down until her face was pressed to earth and pleas left her lips, to help her save her child in any way they could.
And the Mothers did. The ones that had enough milk to feed a second child, would feed Tobirama. Others would bring clothes, clean him up and do other things to help him survive the outside temperatures. The attempt to build a shelter for Tobirama was always thwarted. The husbands looked the other way, their own way of help their Lady. What you didn't see, couldn't be reported to Senju-sama.
And Tobirama survived. He slowly grew up, never really knowing what a family was. Never really learning to talk, or any other social norm. He just knew that he existed here on the streets in the Senju compound with no purpose. Ignored by one half, helped by the other. And if he had a bad day, he was visited by the bad ones who hurt him.
He had no father, no siblings, but many mothers. Some smiled at him. Some gave him food. Some sneaked a blanket out for him, when his old one got to worn out or was stolen from him. He never saw the inside of a house. His home were the woods surrounding the compound. The Lady Senju died. Two out of three children from Butsuma-sama died. And Hashirama, the sole heir to the Clan, always talked to him.
And after the death of Butsuma, Hashirama tried to get him to his home. Tobirama refused. Touka, another person kind to him, was the next one. But again he refused. Many of his mothers opened their door for him, but Tobirama never entered.
He remember the pain that was cast upon him if he ever dared to enter a house. He would never repeat that mistake.
Then suddenly all his mothers packed their homes aways. All of them started to empty their houses and groups formed. Each day, more and more people went away. Many of his mothers tried to coax him to come with them.
But Tobirama was afraid. And he stayed. Until only Hashirama remained.
("There is a Village I made, Tobirama, just for you. And so many Clans that came together in peace. There is a house for us, both. Warm and cosy. And friends! Madara and his brother are waiting to meet you! I will wait for you, otouto, until we both can go to our new home. Until then, let's try to bring you inside, hm?")
