🔥 Characterization of [Pick a character in Undertale or an AU]
I actually have such a problem with Aus lately. A lot of new ones are springing up all the time, and the my issue with them is that the characters get washed out into single traits as a foundation, and the au becomes cheap and foundless because the weight of their origin is gone. Some focus wholly on Sans, and make Sans out to be this cheap angst factor that then makes the whole Au just that... either wholly angst angst angst to drip mascara down your cheeks or cheap flappy paper of an idea that draws cool but gives no solid benefit or progress. Aus were meant to push and display a character in new settings with new motivations and new challenges. instead it feels like aesthetic works first and then the flaws remain.
