Helpful:
Normalizing straight men and lesbians who are attracted to and date trans women. Normalizing straight women and gay men who are attracted to and date trans men.Â
Normalizing straight men and lesbians who aren’t attracted to and don’t want to date trans women, and are respectful about it. Normalizing straight women and gay men who aren’t attracted to and don’t want to date trans men, and are respectful about it.
Making it safe for trans people to communicate that they are trans. Normalizing communication of “I’m cis” or “I’m trans” before dating or doing sexual acts together. Normalizing communicating gender, so lesbians won’t end up dating or doing sexual acts with trans men without knowing, gay men won’t end up dating or doing sexual acts with trans women without knowing, etc. In general, normalizing communication between all parties.
Unhelpful:
Telling people that their attraction or lack thereof is a “genital fetish” (old homophobic rhetoric), coercing people into sex by guilt-tripping them and convincing they’re bigoted if they don’t want to, putting almost all of the focus of this on lesbians, “calling out” afab people for not dating or having sex with amab people, etc.
