hearing about other's experiences. it was...maybe odd, in a way. hearing about humans volunteering to be put under the same conditions that they were made to be treated like. they didn't like that. people shouldn't go under that much suffering, in theory nobody did. but then they existed, and...if they were built for it, then...?
" scientists are..."
they glanced downward. all they knew for the longest time were scientists. they'd like to think that not everyone was emotionless--or worse, gained some kind of pleasure from hurting things. from dissecting them and tearing them apart then putting them back together. that there were good scientists, good doctors. good people. they had that confirmed...! their private doctor, and surely...some scientists were good too-
" they are. i know. what it's like to...be around them, go through all of that. "
and maybe even more. their brows furrowed and they shook their head. trying to smile with a little bit of a quiver. the way they both escaped was slightly different. taro escaped when nobody was around, using one of the scientist's voice to free them and taking their last chance to run. they knew if they were caught then, there was no more chances--no possibility of freedom.
they waited a moment, then sighed. there was no fear in their voice, no shake, just stating fact as they spoke.
" ...i was vivisected daily. i spent most of my time in a glass box, or on a cold metal table. injected with chemicals and diseases and who knows what else. i couldn't try to go anywhere. i was hooked up to large tubes that pumped with a chemical that kept me alive. i still have the ports... "
a shake of their head as they sighed and lifted the back of their shirt, just enough to see two of the six ports that lined their back. they dropped the fabric, pulling down the one over their neck to show the tip of another port, as well as a number, seemingly carved into them where no crystals grew over it, only around. the numbers 393 clear.
" it was...my life. "
