I may have fallen in love.
I’ve been working with LibreOffice by far, but as the files for Of Cows and Curses and Consequences were getting bigger the program was getting sluggish, and moving between all my writing and notes was getting a little awkward. So, I did a little looking around, and came across this lovely little program. It’s got a pleasant, clean interface, complete with a dark mode for the night owls among us, and in addition to your actual text you can use it to organize your notes, links and images.
Options for text layouts etc. are not super advanced, as there’s no support for styles, for example, and making annotations requires a little creativity, but personally I’m really enjoying the look and feel of this program by far. After a little testing I moved all the OCaCaC stuff over and did some writing, and from what I’ve seen by far it seems like this thing fullfills my writing needs really nicely.
