I found SmartEdit on a Reddit thread about tools for writers. It is made of magic and rainbows and ponies. (Maybe not ponies. It's an application, not a British hamburger.) You cut and paste text or upload an RTF file and the program runs a series of checks. It's only for PC, but if something like it exists for Macs (and has a free version), please let me know and I'll link it too.
While the pay version runs 20+ checks, the free version will check for:  - clichés  - dialogue tags  - monitored words/phrases (you can customize this)  - adverbs  - commonly used words (also customizable)  - commonly used phrases (and this too!) GUYS IT FINDS YOUR ADVERBS. What SmartEdit will NOT do is:  - replace your beta  - fix your cliches/tags/flags/adverbs/commonly-used-words/phrases for you  - or suggest how to fix your cliches/tags/you-get-the-idea  - or tell you if fixing them is even a good idea (it isn't always) As the creators say, it's a first-pass editing tool. I used it after my rewrite of my BB fic and while I didn't go as in-depth as I would've liked, I still made a ton of improvements. I'm working on a guide for using SmartEdit's free version to improve your writing, but since it'll include a lot of general writing advice, it'll probably be super long and involve me talking out of my ass a lot. So we'll see how that goes.
