me @ me: you aren't allowed to be jealous of other ppl's writing until your fic count on ao3 hits double digits that starts with a 5
what if i wrote 3.6k of zosan angsty grieving toxic proxyfucking. what then
most annoying thing when writing is when you write down something direct and then realise it's too direct and you have to write around it instead. filling in the negative space to show the positive space is always so much harder than just putting down the positive space and leaving it

"let it be bad" ok but you don't understand i want my writing to be good!! but i can't reach that stage until i write more which inevitably includes writing that is bad!! aughghhh (the obvious solution is to write a lot and simply not post the bad writing. however this requires me to actually write)
definitely 3 am thoughts but i'm like 75% finished with my tam lin au medieval fantasy zolu fic and i'm wondering if i should just say fuck it and post the first chapter instead of waiting until i've completely finished the fic to start posting
the funny hypocrisy about asking friends to beta-read my writing is that i don't want to give them anything that isn't my best effort but at the same time giving them my best effort to tear apart (my wish btw) is far scarier than getting not-as-good writing to be torn apart. but at the end of the day, giving them anything less than my best attempt at the fic is wasting everyone's time
