9. How many fics are in your marked for later list?

I thought it was zero, but then I went to go check, and apparently there are two. I don't remember ever using this feature. Those have apparently been there since May/June 2019, so. It's been a while. Is it "later" yet? Oops. I'm not even reading for that fandom anymore (Sidlink/Breath of the Wild).

10. What's the last fic you read? What did you like most about it?

Ria's Changed Dynamics. "What did I like most" is tough to answer, though. Maybe just the way that Rei thinks about Rye in general, because he is soooo inconsistent with his own thoughts, and he doesn't even realize it. It's very amusing. (But also I love the way the relationship between Hiro and Rei plays out. They're so adorable.)

18. What makes you back out of a fic immediately?

For Detective Conan specifically, it's anything where Rei is the focal character and is referred to as Amuro in the narrative. Just kind of a pet peeve. It's fine when other characters refer to him that way, but if it seems to be coming from his own head... I can't handle it. I'm so tired of Amuro being the default.

For non-Rei-specific fics... Untagged mpreg has definitely caused me to leave more than once. (I suspect it would also cause me to leave for a female character, but most of the fic I read is shipfic, and most of my ships are m/m.) That's not to say that I've never read mpreg/pregnancy, but I can handle it/know what to expect if it's tagged.

Akai is asleep when he arrives – or, at least, he appears to be. His long legs are stretched out, as much as they can be, dangling over the end of couch, while his head rests on the opposite arm. He looks far cozier than Rei has ever seen him, sleeping like this. Peaceful, almost.

Anger claws at Rei's insides, threatening to tear through him. "Wake up, Akai Shuuichi," he grits through clenched teeth, his fist so tight his knuckles turn white from the grip. "Look at me."

Ooh okay. This one is technically abandoned, but I'm calling it "under revision." Except that by revision I mean that it will probably change a lot. In essence, it's a time-traveler!Akai fic (in the case of this universe, Hiro referred to him as a time witch, or something, which is how it got that title).

The idea is that Akai's family are all like this, they can choose one person to bind their soul to, and travel back in time. (Once. I think, anyway. I'm trying to remember the rules I had.)

I still want to do something with Akai being a time traveler (and binding his soul to Rei's, because the point was he did this upon Rei's death at the hands of the Organization, and saving Rei's friends), but I think I'd change a lot from how it first started.

I've shared some of this before in a wip game, but I'm not about to go look that up, so snippet below the cut!

So, I immediately found hours in the Stardew x akam AU:

He's never heard of Pelican Town before, somehow, but a little research informs him that it's a small, rural town a few hours away. Seems like the perfect place to start over.

But I also found the non-plural version in Best Strangers 3:

"You didn't have to get out of bed," he says, his gaze flicking briefly down to Rei's hip. It's one of the bad pain days – that much was clear as soon as Rei awoke close to an hour prior, wincing as he tried to move.

3. What is the rarest rare pair (that you ship)?

ChuuHiro (Shuukichi x Hiro), which, as far as I'm aware, there exists exactly one ficlet for, which I wrote, and which is not on AO3. (If somebody wrote something and I don't know about it, I would love to know about it.)

I don't even think I have a ship from another series like this.

12. What is your favorite canon ship?

For Detective Conan, it's TakaSatou (and it's not close). I might be swayed with KanYui if it's done well, once they're together, but I prefer them as a trio with Koumei.

Wait wait, I know. Chihaya x Shinobu. They got engaged, it's canon. <3

For non-Detective Conan series... I don't usually ship canon ships (because 99% of my ships are gay, and 99% of the series I like are very Not Gay), so it's hard.

Ike x Soren (FE: PoR/RD) has been growing on me since my recent replay of Path of Radiance, and that's as close to canon as Ike gets with literally anyone.

Soriku is canon, right?

For explicitly canon ships... oh! Logan x Veronica from Veronica Mars. They are messy but they're so good. Season 4 doesn't exist.

14. Is there a ship you feel gets undeserved hate in fandom?

Pick any ATLA ship. Literally any of them. Whatever you ship, a sizeable group of people in that fandom hates you for it. It's part of why I barely participated.

For Detective Conan specifically... coai for sure. Certain fans are incapable of letting people enjoy a thing without taking personal offense to it.
